Organizers of Live Nation have confirmed that all three days of Wireless, from Friday-Sunday, July 6, 2014 will go ahead as planned with co-headliner Bruno Mars and refunds are available from point of purchase but not from the event.
Ticket holders tomorrow in Birmingham will also receive £20 of 'Wireless Credit' when they arrive at the site to spend on food, beverages, merchandise and funfair rides.
Other acts performing at the event include Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding, Outkast, Tinie Tempah, Basement Jaxx, Wiz Khalifa, Azealia Banks, Robin Thicke, Clean Bandit, Rudimental, John Newman and Angel Haze.

Samsung has announced it will scrap plasma TVs
It said falling demand meant it would instead focus on producing curved and ultra-high-definition (UHD) TVs.
"We remain committed to providing consumers with products that meet their need," Samsung told the CNET website.
Panasonic, Sony, Hitachi and Pioneer have also pulled out of the sector in recent years. And, according to the Tech Radar website, LG is expected to follow suit soon.
Plasma screens, which use electrically charged ionised gases, are often applauded for their brightness, deep blacks, and high frame rates, considered ideal for watching sport and films.But they tend to use more electricity and are considerably bulkier than the now more popular liquid-crystal display (LCD) and light-emitting diode (LED) TVs.
TrustedReviews website editor Evan Kypreos said: "It's not at all surprising that Samsung has dumped plasma.
"The main issue is that it's very tricky to make [UHD] plasmas, and [UHD] is the future of big TVs.
While plasma is a lot better than LED/LCD TVs in terms of image quality, such as contrast ratio, and motion handling, it has a few drawbacks.
"Plasma TVs can't be made a thin as LEDs, for example. People like stylish tellies."
With the introduction of increasingly advanced organic LED TVs, which arguably have better black levels, brightness and colour gamut than plasmas, there was little reason to continue manufacturing plasma screens, Mr Kypreos said.
"Home-cinema connoisseurs will always have a soft spot for plasmas, but they have simply been technologically superseded," he said.
Panasonic, the Japanese electronics company, has already stopped production of plasma TV screens in 2014, according to reports.

Nooo, not at all; she is even somebody I brought up. She is somebody I brushed up, I sent her to school. So, it is not about being more educated than me or not, you understand what I mean. I did everything to make her a success but she chose otherwise.
So, what did that episode teach you about life?
I think it is a great lesson; I will advise people not to expect too much from a fellow human. That is the way you can live long, that is the way you can enjoy life; expect the worst from others. So, that is my advice to people. It is my guiding philosophy as well.
I don't think it is a good thing to put your trust in people. Instead, put your trust in God who never disappoints.

The legacy that he left behind, God in his mercy will let me sustain it. If he is dead, his ministry would have been shut down.
What will you miss about him?
A lot. In terms of spiritual aspect, I believe I still enjoy his grace. I will miss him a lot. Is it the way he calls me… Nobody can use his tone, I find solace in the fact that he is a man of God. I am not mourning. There is no mourning in the Kingdom of God. That is why we are not crying.
How supportive are your husband's family?
I don't have any grudges against them.
It took you 11 months to bury him, why is it so?
Well, Ajanaku himself picked this day July 17. It is part of what I discovered in me. Its is part of his misery that made me say that he has what other men of God don't have. 7 is a perfect number. Everything about his life had something in common with 7. I know it is not a coincidence. It is divine ordination from God Almighty. Like his date of birth, his house address where we were was number 17. All the tenants in the house were 17. The land where we have the house was given to him. That was the only land that we have on the street and why is it 17. The church address is 17 too. That is how God has been handling his life.

Aregbesola’ll win by wide margin – Senator Adeyeye
He insisted that the defeat of the sitting governor as it happened in Ekiti State cannot repeat itself in Osun State "because the people of the state have already demonstrated their love for Governor Rauf Aregbesola".
Speaking at a personality programme tagged 'News point', organised by the Osun Correspondent Chapel of NUJ, in Osogbo, Senator Adeyeye said the massive turnout of people at the mega rallies held at Iwo, Ikire, Ikirun and Ibokun were clear demonstration of the support of the people to Aregbesola's second term bid. He described the INEC chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega as a man with moral integrity who will not compromise the coming election in Osun State.
He said "I am confident that what happened in Ekiti State cannot play out in Osun State because just as people demonstrated their support for Aregbesola in 2007, they are even now more committed to him following his outstanding performance in his first term tenure of office".
Besides, he said the mega rallies held so far and subsequent ones, are designed to demonstrate the strength of the party.
On the decision to send the REC on leave following pressures from the PDP, Adeyeye said the PDP has failed to document anything Ambassador Rufus Akeju did wrong.
Adeyeye, who described the INEC Chairman, Professor Atahiru Jega as a moralist that would not like his reputation tarnished, noted that Jega should ensure a hitch free and credible election in Osun State as he promised.
The lawmaker said the commission has been improving with elections conducted in the country so far, except in some states where bad eggs in the commission had capitulated.
On the transfer of Akeju, he said that APC entertained no fear, stressing that the party will win the coming election without any stress.
He said further that the opposition parties, especially the PDP was crying wolf where there was none "because of the defeat the party will suffer in the election".
Adeyeye also stated that : '" PDP has not documented what Akeju did wrong, rather than alledging that he is a card carrying member of APC,but since he has been transferred to another state,it will not change APC's resolve to win the August 9 election in Osun State".

Jonathan’s re-election campaign amid worsening insecurity callous, insensitive – APC
In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the message being conveyed to all Nigerians is that the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan takes priority over anything else, including the security and welfare of the citizens.
"Were this not to be so, no responsible group will choose this time, when over 200 school girls have been missing for over 80 days and the terror group Boko Haram is daily killing and maiming Nigerians, to launch a misguided re-election campaign for the President. If their daughters were among the missing school girls, will they be launching a political campaign for re-election rather than pushing for the girls' release?
"To show their contempt for decency and as if they were intent on inflicting more pain on the parents and guardians of the missing girls, they decided to position their campaign instrument, wheel-mounted electronic billboards, right at the Unity Fountain in Abuja where committed and patriotic Nigerians have been holding their own daily campaign for the safe return of the girls," it said.
APC said much as it may deny, it is clear that the Jonathan Administration, that has surpassed itself in sheer cluelessness in providing purposeful leadership to stop the daily carnage in the country and ensuring the return of the missing girls, has apparently been secretly funding different groups to campaign for it.
"First there is the Protectors of Nigerian Posterity, then the Goodluck Initiative for Transformation 2015 and now the GEJites. With the expensive newspaper, television and Social Media adverts that these nebulous groups are running, it is clear they are being financed from a bottomless war chest, to which taxpayers have been unwilling contributors.
"It is sad that a government that apparently cannot adequately fund the war on terror, a government that has lost the initiative to terrorists, a government that cannot provide jobs for its teeming army of unemployed, a government that is running Nigeria aground has suddenly found huge funds to engage in a re-election campaign that is going nowhere, touting tokenism as achievements," the party said.
It said if the Administration does not endorse the callousness and insensitivity of the groups, it should publicly dissociate itself from them and then call them to order.
Meanwhile, APC has raised the alarm that the Federal Government is losing the war on terror, which has progressively gotten worse since the abduction of the Chibok girls over 80 days ago.
"Almost on a daily basis now, these terrorists have been striking at places and times of their own choosing, even as they are becoming more emboldened to carry their terror campaign right into the heart of the nation's capital, Abuja. Innocent Nigerians are being killed and maimed in high numbers across several states
"Instead of cashing in on the global outcry that followed the abduction of the over 200 Chibok girls to galvanize national and international action, not just support, the Jonathan Administration has been chasing shadows, pointing accusing fingers at innocent groups and people; harassing the media and curtailing individual freedoms
"One misguided pro-Jonathan commentator even said the attacks are occurring in states under the control of the APC, as if Bauchi and Kaduna are APC states. We have said it before and we will repeat it here: Boko Haram is a clear and present danger to all Nigerians: Christians and Muslims; Men, women and children; The rich and the poor as well as People of all political leanings and of all ethnic groups.
"When they want to throw their bombs, they do not ask if supporters or opponents of Jonathan are there. They do not ask if supporters of PDP or APC are there. They just kill, maim and destroy indiscriminately," the party said.
It therefore reiterated its earlier call for a non-partisan approach to solving the Boko Haram crisis, an approach that will not factor in the 2015 political calculations, an approach that will not demonize a people of certain religion or ethnicity, an approach that will not divide Nigerians along primordial lines.
"This is why we have offered our hand of cooperation that has yet to be accepted by the Federal Government. This is why we have called for a National Security Summit of all stakeholders to proffer solutions to the Boko Haram crisis. This is why we have reminded the FG that Boko Haram is not just a security issue, but also a social, economic and political crisis that must be tackled holistically," APC said.
The party said the Jonathan Administration should have the humility to admit that whatever tactics it has been using against Boko Haram are not working and then reach out to all stakeholders to find a way out of the national quagmire.
"The state of emergency, which has been renewed twice, has not stemmed the tide of attacks. Chibok, where school girls were abducted, is not any more secured now as more attacks and abductions have taken place there. The terrorists, who used to strike on the outskirts of Abuja, have now taken their battle into the city. It is time for new thinking, new direction and new purpose in the fight against terror," it said.

Rift With Gov. Okorocha: Charly Boy finally Speaks Up
Charly boy has issued a statement over the issue, saying there is no ill feeling between him and the governor.
In the statement, he expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Imo State Government and Governor Rochas Okorocha, Rivers State Government and Governor Rotimi Amaechi, for their immeasurable support and participation.
The statement reads in part:
"This is to register my utmost pleasure and appreciation to all Nigerians for the remarkable show of love to me and my family in giving my father, Hon. Justice Chukwudifu Akunne Oputa, a most befitting burial.
"May I use this medium to clear the air concerning news making the rounds. There is no ill feeling between me and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha (SAM). I did not snatch microphone from him, no such thing happened at all. I do not put out as portrayed by these news reports; I believe I am a very cultured individual, not one to rubbish a good gesture."
He once again thanked all Nigerians for their support.
After the death of his father, on May 4, 2014, Charly boy had warned politicians not to politicise his father's burial as he was prepared to embarrass any politician who tries to hijack the burial plans.
During his father's Lying-In-State, he had stormed out of the venue without warning, which according to report, he did because he was angered by the fact that the lying-in-state was heading into the wrong direction, and was not about commemorating his father, but more about politics.

Blast in Maiduguri kills at least 15
After the explosion in a truck carrying charcoal at the city's biggest roundabout during morning rush hour, victims were taken to the State Specialist Hospital, where the photographer saw the bodies of 15 people killed in the blast, while witnesses said the toll could be much higher.

Legendary soul singer Bobby Womack is dead
A spokesperson for the 'Across 110th Street' hitmaker's record label XL Recordings told RollingStone.com that his cause of death is currently unknown.
The late singer, who was in the process of recording a new album tentatively titled 'The Best Is Yet to Come,' with rumoured contributions by Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and Snoop Dogg, began his career as a member of Curtis Womack and the Womack Brothers with his brothers Curtis, Harry, Cecil and Friendly, Jr., but they changed their name to the Valentinos shortly after they scored their first record deal in 1960.
The Rolling Stones' cover of their track 'It's All Over Now' topped the UK charts in 1964, just one month after the original version was released.
The group disbanded later that year after Cooke's death and Bobby became a session musician.
He released his debut album, 'Fly Me to the Moon,' in 1968 after playing guitar on a string of well-known albums, including Aretha Franklin's 'Lady Soul,' and went on to release several more successful solo records, including 'Facts of Life.'
Bobby Womack sought treatment in rehab in the 1980s for drug addiction, and later battled a series of health problems, including colon cancer, diabetes, pneumonia and showed early signs of Alzheimer's disease.
His 2012 release 'The Bravest Man in the Universe' was voted one of the 50 Best Albums of the year and he admitted he thought his songs were getting better with age.
He said at the time: 'You know more at 65 than you did at 25. I understand the songs much better now. It's not about 14 Rolls Royces and two Bentleys. Even if this album never sells a nickel, I know I put my best foot forward.'

Olajumoke, Olanipekun hail Ekiti guber polls
Olajumoke said Fayemi's decision to accept defeat in the last governorship election has given Nigerians hope on the development of democracy.
While speaking with newsmen in Akure, he said Fayemi with his action had also dashed the hope of people that the election would lead to bloodshed.
According to him "Fayemi is a good democrat, he has set up a template for future election, he has raised the bar on democratic revolution, he has shown that politics is not a do or die affair.
"He is somebody that is worthy of emulation, he has raised the bar for the political landscape, I did the same thing when I lost to Prof. Boroffice in the senatorial election in 2011.
"Politics and governance are about service to the people, if you offer yourself to serve the people and they accept you it is okay, but if the people say they want another person to serve them, we should learn to respect the views of the people and accept their verdict, this is exactly what Fayemi has done and should be commended for".
Also speaking in the same vein, former National President of Association, Wole Olanipekun has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the last governorship election in Ekiti state saying the country is moving towards civilised democracy.
Olanipekun who spoke with newsmen in Akure during the 2014 law week of the Association, Akure branch also commended the Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemir for accepting the decision of the people of the state on the election.
He said he was proud of what happened in Ekiti State during the election and that the election remains one of the fairest and freest in the history of election in the country.

EKITI ELECTION: 5 REASONS WHY FAYEMI LOST TO FAYOSE
1. The Adaramodu damage
When Governor Kayode Fayemi came in, one man deserved major part of the credit: a certain Yemi Adaramodu who was the director of communications of the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation. He was later appointed the chief of staff to the governor. However, upon his appointment, Adaramodu became so powerful that many within and outside government circles believed he was the de facto governor. Many other aides of the governor were forced to gravitate towards him. A source said there was a time local government caretaker chairmen were to be appointed and Adaramodu alone picked 12 out of the 16 nominees and they were all approved by the governor.
He succeeded in alienating the governor from so many political interests which would have been useful for him in his quest for a second term in office. He was able to create an alternate power centre within the government which he used to dispense favour in furtherance of his own rumoured governorship ambition in 2018. His house and office were always a Mecca for those looking for one favour or the other from government. There were allegations that a hit squad was being run without Fayemi's knowledge. The squad was accused of being behind the attack on Labour Party members in Emure-Ekiti where one Foluso Ogundare was killed. At this point, Fayemi began to cut him to size. He had been penciled down to head the re-election campaign committee but this was not to be as he was stripped of most of his powers but the damage had already been done.
2. The vice-presidential rumour
One of the issues troubling the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the choice of a presidential candidate and his running mate. The party has often been accused of pushing a Muslim-Muslim ticket, with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the running mate to whoever emerges in the north. It was permutations towards avoiding this scenario that have thrown up the possibility of a southern Christian being running mate. One of the names that regularly features is Fayemi. This was not welcome in the corridors of APC powers, neither did it help Fayemi's re-election bid.
The massive support he would have received from Lagos for his re-election bid diminished and vanished, although he was also said to have failed to "lubricate" the relationship in the last four years. "He failed to understand that somebody spent money, time and energy to make him governor in the first place," an APC stalwart told TheCable two weeks before the election.
3. The anger of teachers/civil servants
Anyone who knows the politics of Ekiti will know that no politician can be in the bad books of teachers and civil servants and expect to win any election in the state. Fayemi got into trouble with them very early in his administration. First was the issue of promotion and payment of the new teachers' salary scale, TSS. Fayemi was said to have told teachers that he would not be able to pay the money owing to paucity of funds in government coffers. That was in 2011. But a month to the election, he announced that he would implement it. In the same vein, the service reclassification exercise, though good on paper, was a political suicide. The exercise saw to demotion of some principals to vice-principals and vice-principals to classroom teachers. In fact, some of those affected could not accept the "humiliation" and as a result put in retirement notice. Primary school teachers refused to take the reclassification examination but they were also aware that should the governor come back, they would be in trouble as they would either be forced to take the test or face the sack. They mobilised massively against the governor on the eve of the election.
4. Lack of political structure
As much as Fayemi recorded laundable achievements as Ekiti State governor, sympathisers of the governor had always worried that his lack of strong and virile political structure was a big minus for him as he sought a second term in office. Apart from party cells across the state, many believed that the governor needed to have a core of political loyalists, "enforcers" and foot soldiers who would always ensure that he is in touch with the ordinary people. These are people who are expected to pop up at people's social events and meetings and liaise with them and "deliver" a message from the governor.
Fayemi did not have this set of people. Many attributed this to his refusal to conduct local government election throughout his tenure ─ a situation that brought about using caretaker chairmen the longest among whom spent only one year in office before being removed. During the election, beyond party structure, there were no strong political figures who could swing things in favour of the governor when the die was cast. Most importantly, Fayemi was undermined by the exit of his friend and political associate, Opeyemi Bamidele, who decided to run against him. This exposed the vulnerability of his government and weakened the structure that Fayemi could have mobilised for re-election.
5. Fayose's popularity
He might have a murder rap still hanging over his head and one or two issues to sort out with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), but the candidate of the PDP and winner of the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, is immensely popular. He is a strong grassroots mobiliser who understands the language of the common people. His position and words resonate with them so much that they see him as part of them. Across the three senatorial zones, Fayose remains a very popular politician whom the electorate was ready to forgive for his past "sins" and give him their mandate. During his campaigns, he was pulling massive crowds anywhere he went. In fact, during the mega rally in Ado-Ekiti when President Goodluck Jonathan came to present the PDP flag to him, his vests were being sold to party members when ordinarily, they should have been distributed free of charge. In contrast, Fayemi, despite being governor for almost four years, still did not have that touch with the common man. They saw him as a "foreigner" and "intellectual" who they knew little about.
