ASUU STRIKE: Chaos As Union Disrupts Lectures In UNIBEN

Crisis broke out at the University of Benin on Monday as
protesting members of Academic Staff Union of Universities,
ASUU, clashed with some lecturers of the school as they were
holding lectures.

Some UNIBEN lecturers resumed academic activities today
despite the on-going strike embarked on by the Union over
disagreement with the Federal Government.

It was gathered that members of the striking union stormed
the institution to stop all the lectures that held lectures in the
University today.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the ASUU task force disrupted a
computer science lecture at the law Department of the
institution.

The Union also clashed with men of the Nigeria Police who
were invited by the Vice Chancellor of the university of
Benin, Osayuki Godwin Oshodin
to enforce the resumption.
