Jonathan’s meeting with governors deadlocked

A last ditch effort by President Goodluck Jonathan to bring
back the five governors who defected from the Peoples
Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress faltered
again as a meeting convened on Sunday ended in a stalemate.
The meeting which was presided over by President Goodluck
Jonathan had in attendance the Vice President Namadi Sambo;
seventeen governors including three of the seven G7
governors, chairman of the board of Trustees of the PDP,
Tony Anenih lasted till 3:30 Monday morning.
While the governor of Sokoto State, Magatakarda said they
were in the Villa to formally inform President Jonathan that
they had left the PDP for APC, the Akwa Ibom State
Governor, Godswill Akpabio said the meeting was at the
instance of the President to find lasting solution to the
lingering crisis in the PDP.
