One Kenyan politician wasn't going to let the fact that he had never met Nelson Mandela get in the way of posting a picture of the two together.
The Independent reports that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko
uploaded a picture of him and Mandela together on his Facebook page the day that Mandela died.
But the poor photoshopping attempt meant it wasn't long before people started suspecting that something wasn't quite right.
The image was quickly identified as one of Mandela and
Muhammed Ali taken decades ago.
Reddit user "ZincHead" claimed sarcastically that "Mandela
was just a bit blurry that day. Nothing suspicious here."
Others was less generous, calling Senator Sonko an "attention whore" and asking if he was "a Senator or a socialite."
Senator Sonko was elected as an MP in 2010, but was kicked out of Parliament for wearing earrings and sunglasses. He was then elected senator for Nairobi in 2013, and has come to be seen as an icon of youth empowerment in Kenya.
Interestingly it isn't his first photoshop incident either. In
October, Senator Sonko claimed that images of him with
another politician, Rachael Shebesh, in bed, were
photoshopped.
What do you think; photoshopped or
not?
