academic and Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano.
On 8 June, 2010 he was nominated by President Goodluck
Jonathan as the new Chairman of the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC), subject to Senate
confirmation, as a replacement for Professor Maurice Iwu,
who vacated the post on 28 April, 2010.
Jega's nomination as INEC Chairman followed approval by
a meeting of the National Council of State called by
President Jonathan and attended by former heads of state
Yakubu Gowon, Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida,
Abdulsalami Abubakar, Ernest Shonekan, Olusegun
Obasanjo and Shehu Shagari. The Senate President David
Mark, Speaker of the House of Representatives Oladimeji
Bankole, and most of the state Governors also attended the
meeting. Unanimous approval by the council of the
nominee for this critical appointment avoided controversy
about whether or not the President should appoint the
chairman of the INEC. Reactions to the announcement from
a broad spectrum of political leaders and organisations were
positive, although some voiced concern that it could be too
late to implement real reforms before the 2011 elections.
Everything's wrong with Jega's nomination and
appointment. INEC is supposed to be an independent body.
Why should the Chairman of our electoral commission be
nominated, assessed, endorsed and appointed by a group of
politicians??? This is very wrong!!! It doesn't portray the
true and main characteristic of our electoral body.
Okay, Jega was nominated by Jonathan, a year to the
election. Jonathan contested for the post of the President in
thesame election, and the Chairman of the electoral
commission was thesame man he fed with his hands. Y'all
expected Jega to bite the fingers that fed him???
Now, the election results, Jonathan won as expected. I
voted for him, I expected him to win, we all did. As such,
Nigerians declared the election free and fair. Some even
compared it to Abiola's 1993 election (The freest in the
history of the country). When I checked the statistics of the
election, I noticed some irregularities. 60% of registered
voters voted in the North, 90% in the East, about 90% in
the South-South, and 75% in the West. Jonathan had
problems in the North and the population of the region is
massive, no wonder 60% of registered voters in the North
voted. If Jega wasn't a Professor of Political Science, I
would've said that he's a Virtuoso in Chemistry. That
election reminded me of Titration in Chemistry. If you
know the average titre value, and you try the experiment
once, you don't have to continue with the experiment, you
can just cook the remaining values, draw your table and
manipulate your way to the average titre value. Being a
science student, I know how it works. Jega is a genius!!!
With those perfect values, Jonathan won the election
unquestionably.
Thank God for Anambra's election, the hen's anus has been
exposed!!!
The PDP not wanting to lose yet another State to the APC,
the Chemistry Virtuoso was brought to work again. Yeah, it
would have been too glaring if PDP won in the state, and
Jega being too intelligent to risk that, decided to give it to
APGA. Atleast they won't lose to APC, having the
presidential election in mind.
This is how Jega did it:
Areas where APC have a lot of supporters ——–> we'll
take insufficient voting materials there, we'll frustrate the
voters, some of them won't vote.
Areas where APGA or PDP have a lot of supporters
———-> we'll take more than enough voting materials
there, we may even allow people that did not register to
vote.
Simple formula, a masterpiece!!! Jega, Jonathan's boy is a
real genius.
Okay, security officers were also used, but Jega's tested and
trusted manipulative technique played the decisive role.
After the election was declared indecisive, "my oga at the
top," Jega went back to seal the deal.
Jega is not the messiah, it is wrong for the President to
nominate and then appoint the Chairman of a supposed
independent electoral commission. The chairman should
evolve from the commission itself. The president doesn't
nominate for NLC or TUC or ASUU. Can Jonathan
nominate someone for the post of ASUU president??? Our
electoral commission shouldn't be dependent on the
government. It shouldn't be run by the government.
Jega is a professional cheat, he can't be caught, but he can
be stopped.
If we don't stop Jega now, Jonathan will inevitably emerge
as President again, in 2015, with or without our votes.
Let's stop the professional cheat now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
