"My Colleagues Want To Run Me Down" - Comedian Klint Da Drunk

In a recent interview with Punch, popular comedian Klint Da Drunk alleged that his colleagues are trying to run him down, peddling rumours that his love for computer game is the reason he hasn't gone far in his comedy career

"Now they say I would have gone far in my career if not for my love for computer games. It is this same set of comedians that went around telling people that I live in Abuja so that I will not be getting Lagos shows. My colleagues want to run me down, let them feel free. It is because they are afraid of me; they feel that if they run me down I won't survive it. I am a gadget lover, that is the truth. Everyone knows that whenever I walk into a gadget shop the people there want me to educate them about some of their gadgets. Isn't it better that I am a sucker for video games than a sucker for smoking igbo, marijuana?" he asks
On his relationship with other comedians, Klint said "They have cliques but that does not bother me because it doesn't affect my career. God still chases away flies for a tailless cow. So, I'm not complaining".

Shocking News: Panic In Makurdi Over ‘Talking’ Chicken started speaking in Arabic

There was panic yesterday among residents in Makurdi, Benue state after news of a 'talking' chicken went viral.

Apparently the said chicken was said to being taken to the market to be sold when suddenly it started speaking in Arabic.

The incident was reported to have occurred at about 12 noon around the Wadata central mosque premises located few meters from the divisional police station.

Residents around the 'A' division police station beside Wadata Market, Makurdi took to their heels after hearing the news.

A woman in the area who gave her name as Aishetu said "I have not seen the chicken myself," she confessed. "I heard that police have taken it into custody and that is why the station is so crowded. Everybody wants to see it talk," she said.

The incident was said to have caused some sort of chaos as motorists plying the road, hurriedly reversed to the opposite direction while buyers and sellers in the market ran helter-skelter for safety fearing it was a renewed hostility between farmers and herdsmen who ceased fire barely a week ago.

Meanwhile as a way of restoring normality to the area, the policemen were reported to have threw canister to disperse the crowd who wanted to have a glance of the 'talking' chicken.

The Police spokesman, SP. Daniel Ezeala, however dismissed the claims saying "How can a fowl talk'" he queried. "There is nothing like that because it is unnatural for animals to talk. It is the handiwork of mischief makers who wanted to displace traders and loot their wares in the market," Ezeala said.

Trouble In Actors’ Body Ås Saidi Balogun Breaks Away To Form New Group

Although President of the newly formed Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Yemi Solade, has denied rumours of division in the association, there are strong indications things may not be as calm as he says.

In a text message sent to NET, Solade claimed that a new group, The Movie Ambassador, led by actor, Saidi Balogun is a part of the bigger body.

'The Movie Ambassador is a nucleus group in TAMPAN,' he had said, but findings however revealed that few weeks ago in Ikorodu, Lagos State, when the duo of Jide Kosoko and Adebayo Salami, both past presidents of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners (ANTP) used their veto powers to effect the change of name and set up a National Working Committee for TAMPAN, a few people, including Balogun, were not pleased.

Many say that is the reason for the birth of TMA.

'We knew this was going to happen, we just didn't think it was going to be this soon. Saheed and few people didn't seem to like the way things went. I hope their group makes a head way because TAMPAN had the support of people that mattered in the Yoruba Film Industry,' an insider told NET.

NET gathered that the likes of Foluke Daramola, Yomi Fabiyi, Aishat Abimbola, Laide Bakare and a few others felt the same way Balogun did and joined him to start the new group.

Although efforts made to reach Balogun and Daramola to get their reaction were futile, we gathered that the new association is doing well as officers have been elected and activities have begun.

Wonderful: Meet 12-Year-Old Conjoined Twins Worshipped As A Divine Incarnation ( Photos )

Conjoined twins Shivanath and Shivram Sahu caused quite a stir when they were born in India, with some people in their village worshipping them as divine incarnations and while one doctor has said that it would be possible to separate them, the 12-year-old boys, who were born joined at the waist, are determined to remain together.

The twins share two legs and four arms and work in tandem to get around. They are believed to share the same stomach but have
independent lungs, hearts and brains.

The twins are able to walk down the stairs of their simple split-level home and even run on
all six limbs to play cricket and other games with neighboring children.

With practice, they have learned to do all their basic daily chores with minimal fuss, including showering, eating, getting dressed and combing each other's hair. They are also talented academics and considered among the top students at their local school, much to the pride of their doting father, Raj Kumar, 45, who also has five daughters.

Doctors believe it's possible to separate the twins but there will be drastic consequences for Shivanath, who appears to be the weaker of the two twins. Shivram would likely keep both legs and could start living a more normal life while Shivanath would be left with no legs and needing full-time care.

Hence the twins and their father are adamant they will not be parted. Their father told MailOnline: 'For everyone it is good fun to watch my children, but only I understand all the problems they have.

During rainy season it becomes difficult for them to walk and when one wants to sit the other has to lie down. But they don't fight. They have similar opinions and if one says he wants to play the other one agrees. God has created them like this so they have to walk like they do.

They will remain like this. I don't want anything else. Even if doctors say so, I won't get my children separated. I have no interest in money. I'm the one who will work hard to nourish them. I don't need any help.'

Shivram also said:

'We don't wish to get separated. We will stay like this even when we grow old. We want to live as we are.'

Kendrick Lamar Details Nas' "Illmatic" Impact

Kendrick Lamar says some have compared his work with Nas'.

"We share somewhat of a similar story just being from a community and not being sucked in by what's going on around you," he says in an interview with Google Play. "He's from the projects. I'm from Compton. I'm sure he's seen a lot and done a lot. You hear in my music what's surrounded me and just to be able to elevate your mind alittle bit further passed that through writing is bigger than one song. In order to do that and craft that, it's on another plane and I wouldn't have been able to do that if it wasn't for that album, truthfully.

"Just to know some type of comparison is there, I'm not saying I'm like Nas or like Jay, I want to be Kendrick Lamar, but to just know that I'm on the right plane as far as my subject matter and what he's talking about and what he's done with his career, it makes me a little more confident in what I'm doing," Kendrick Lamar adds.

In January 2013, Nas celebrated Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city. "No disrespect to nobody else in rap music, but Kendrick Lamar," he said at the time. "I'm really happy about his record. I needed that. His record reaches you. It gives you hope."

When Kendrick Lamar heard about Nas' praise, he discussed his admiration for the Queens, New York emcee.

"That's crazy, I didn't hear that," Lamar said. "That's amazing, just off the fact that it's Nas. You can hear the influence [of him] on my storytelling. For somebody who's been a lead player in this game for so many years, a veteran as far as longevity and skill, that's an accomplishment just on words alone."

"I’m A Victim Of Blackmail" -- Laide Bakare’s Hubby Drags EFCC To Court

Alhaji Mutairu Babatunde Oriowo, husband of Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has debunked the fraud and theft story against him occasioned through a declaration by the EFCC and published recently in a national daily. The businessman, who is the CEO of Primavera Construction & Engineering Ltd, added that, contrary to EFCC's statement declaring him wanted, he is not on the run because he has not committed any offence to warrant running away from his fatherland.
The businessman said that he was miffed by the EFCC declaration because he could not understand what the interest of EFCC was, as no court of law has indicted him for any offence and no warrant of arrest has ever been issued on him.
Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has also said that she is standing by her husband on the matter, believing that the EFCC publication was meant to destroy his hard-earned reputation as a philanthropist who derives joy in helping people, adding that the story was also a calculated attempt to smear her own name as a celebrity.

According to Mr. Orilowo, the EFCC and MTN were only out to blackmail him because the court case he instituted against EFCC, seeking an injunction to restrain the agency from arresting him or declaring him wanted, will be determine on the 28th of April 2014. Yet he was declared wanted on no basis many weeks before the hearing date.

Explaining the issue further, Mr. Orilowo said that "there was this MTN Cooperative whose membership is of MTN workers. Their union came together with this idea of a project called 'Y'ello Estate' to be built at Okun Ajah. That is my home town and where I do most of my businesses. So, based on my popularity and as a philanthropist who commands respect in the area, my company, Primavera Engineering & Construction Limited, was approached by MTN to help buy five hectares of land, which we did. Later, they came to us again and said oh, there are more demands, get us five hectares more. We did. The subscribers now became much interested in the project because they were going to make it the best of such Estates in Lagos".

"We had an agreement from the beginning because they trusted us to deliver. The agreement was for me to; one, buy the lands; two, to ensure that the lands acquired were validly documented, and three, to be the sole developer of the Estate".
"But some powerful people at MTN then came in after the agreement with the aim to hijack it. They saw the project as a laudable one and they were shocked that I was the only man handling the project. They came with an excuse that many people were bidding for it and it should not be a one-man thing. But I have spent close to one billion naira on this project. The agreement was for me to collect from MTN 20 percent of the money for mobilization and then go ahead to complete it with my personal money. And I have spent a lot on it. You know how big a project like an Estate can be; talk of roads, bridges and other amenities".

"So, since the MTN had decided to bring in another developer and my company has committed so much into executing the project, I asked that the money I have spent so far be refunded. But when they were not forthcoming, I took the MTN Cooperative to court seeking to retrieve my money. We got judgment from Hon. Justice Olateru-Olagbegi. We then had negotiations with MTN based on the court judgment. Under the terms of settlement, MTN was to pay us substantial sums of money".

"But MTN still refused to pay us, so we commenced third-party involvement proceedings against MTN which resulted in the issuance of an order freezing the bank accounts of MTN. While we await action on our money, MTN went to EFCC to lodge criminal complaints against us, alleging theft of money without disclosing the court proceedings on the issue. This was after the EFCC, on its own, had gone to court to institute criminal proceedings against us based on MTN's complaints, which is still pending before the court".

Man Bags 19 Months Imprisonment For Beating Up Police Officer

A Zuba Upper Area Court on Thursday sentenced Ismaila Musa, of no fixed address, to 19 months in prison for beating up a police officer.

Musa is facing four-count charge of screening an offender, obstructing a police officer from carrying out his work, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Malam Aminu Sa'ad, the presiding judge, sentenced Musa after he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Sa'ad, however, gave the convict an option of N75,000 fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Haruna Danlami, told the court that on April 2, a police officer was sent to Zuba fruit market, Abuja, on inquiry.

Danlami said that when the officer got to the market, he arrested two suspects, along with the exhibit of their offence, and charged them with theft.

He alleged that on their way back to the station, the convict attacked the police man and set the other suspect free in the process and escaped with the exhibit.

Danlami also told the court that Musa deceived one Cpl. Yonana Moses to come and arrest a suspect that escaped from his custody.

He said that on reaching there, the convict, along with some boys, beat up the officer.

The prosecutor told the court that the offences contravened the Penal Code.

An eyewitness, Effiong Bassey, said Omotayo jumped from the bus into the major road for other vehicles to run over him. Lying on the main road leading to the Government House, It took a while for policemen to get him out of the road. He insisted he must put an end to his poverty-stricken life in a rich country like Nigeria.
