Reports have it that veteran Fuji Musician
Kolington Ayinla is battling a 'strange illness' and
has put up some of his landed property for sale, in
other to raise money to pay for treatment .
The 'Ijo Yoyo' singer in a recent interview with
Encomium Weekly said, 'It is a strange ailment, it's
spiritual. That's the best way of describing it. But I
thank God that I am still alive'.
Ayinla also blamed his poor health condition on the
state of the Nigerian economy;
'My health condition has been worsened by the poor
economic situation of Nigeria, nothing is working.
Everything is paralysed. I kept thinking to the extent
that I wanted to sell my property. If the government
had not turned everything upside down, people like
me are not supposed to be suffering likes this'.
Source learnt that the Fuji singer had also sold his old
fish depot (which he has owned for over 25 years),
situated along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, Lagos
in other to treat an initial ailment.
The news of Ayinla's illness follows a growing
trend of older Nigerian artistes and actors battling
several medical conditions.
Ayinla is one of the most popular Fuji artistes who
shot to fame in the late 80s and early 90s with
several hit albums like 'Kasabubu', 'Ijo Yoyo' and
'Kaya'.
