Wizkid, Waje part ways with manager Godwin Tom

Pop stars Wizkid and Waje have allegedly parted ways with their manager Godwin Tom.

Source gathered that Wizzy and Godwin Tom may have had a disagreement after a recent overseas trip to Dubai and the UK.

Sources are saying Tom threw in the towel following the bitter spat, although we could not immediately confirm this.

The popular music manager who has in the past managed acts like M.I and Show Dem Camp, has also parted ways with his other client Waje. The the cause of the business relationship breakdown between Waje and Godwin Tom is yet to be revealed, but we confirmed reliably it's over for the duo who had a great relationship with plenty PDA.

Godwin Tom has been dropping some cryptic comments on Twitter and Instagram which shows signs of frustration over the recent developments. 'Fuck this shit… I'm done!' Godwin Tom tweeted a few days ago.

He's told close friends he may consider taking a break from the Nigerian music scene to try his hands on other ventures.

'I'm on the move and I can't look back… No regrets at all! Wasted time, I can't get that back so everyday I go hard! #NoRegrets Pusha T,' he added.

Fuck this shit… I'm done!

— Godwin Tom (@GodwinTom) April 14, 2014

Both singers have removed Godwin Tom's name and contacts from their Twitter pages and replaced them with their new managements.

Waje's Publicist has already confirmed to NET that Godwin Tom is no longer managing the Edo State born singer. 'Godwin Tom is no longer managing Waje ,' Waje's media rep Wild Flower PR told NET.

All efforts to reach Godwin Tom by NET have so far been unsuccessful.

Godwin Tom started working with Waje in 2012, the same year he teamed up with Wizkid after the singer parted ways with his first manager Osagie Osarenkhoe.

Woman Who Claims To Be Mad Caught with N100,000, 2 BlackBerry and an android phone

A woman who is pretending to be mentally challenged escaped being lynched by angry mob on Wednesday in Lagos after she was allegedly caught with N100,000, two BlackBerry phones and an android phone.

According to report from the scene of the incident around Onabanjo Street, Oworonshoki, Lagos, it was learnt that the incident occurred around 10am. The woman has been arrested and taking to station.
A policeman who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said attempts to verify the allegations were fruitless. He said, "I have been asking the woman questions all day, but she has just been incoherent. She has even refused to tell us her name. At some point, she just started crying, so I let her sleep. I don't even know if she is a mad woman."
Some residents of the area told Punch that two ATM cards were also found on the woman. A resident, James Ogunkoya said when some youths saw the woman with some money, they trailed her into a compound.

The youths, who suspected her of being a ritual killer, pounced on her and beat her to a pulp.

Ogunkoya said, "Around 10am, I saw a crowd around an unkempt woman. Some of the youths picked up sticks and were beating the woman. When I asked what was wrong, they said they found three phones and N100,000 with the her. They said the woman was not mad, but was only pretending to be mad so that she could easily perpetrate evil acts."

Another resident said the youths started suspecting her as she was overheard speaking like a normal person with somebody two days ago. "Some guys were convinced that the woman was only pretending because they overheard her talking with a man on Monday night. They also wondered where a mad woman could have found the phones," he added.

"The notorious cannibal, Clifford Oji, used to parade himself as a mad man as well. We have also seen cases in our neighbourhood where supposed mad people kidnapped children. We want the government to support the community in setting up a task force that will evacuate mentally-challenged people," a leader said.

Anyway, Nigeria Police say they are not making any conclusions yet until they conclude their investigations

Celebs in '90s Fashion Trends: Kate Bosworth, Selena Gomez and More Stars Embrace Plaid, Floral Prints and Gothic Looks

Let it be known--the '90s are back and better than ever!

It's hard to believe the old school decade is resurfacing on the style scene, but one glance at celebs like Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts and Anne Hathaway, and it's completely confirmed. Several stylish stars have been embracing the retro looks with vigor, wearing plaid flannels, tough combat boots, floral prints and gothic-inspired styles this spring. The denim jacket is topping off countless ensembles, and we're overwhelmed by the popularity of overalls once again.

Selena Gomez and Olivia Palermo both masterfully pull off the look without looking totally out of their elements.

Naijawise advice: Just go with it! Candice Swanepoel stunned in a cropped fluffy mohair sweater and high-waisted jeans, while Kate Bosworth stepped out at Coachella in full '90s mode, wearing a patterned romper by Carven paired with studded flatform sandals, maroon lipstick and a slick topknot for the full effect.

If you aren't quite as brave as Kate or Candice, pick just one '90s element to incorporate into your outfit for a slightly more modern twist.

Arsenal wins to go back to 'Top Four'.

Lukas Podolski struck twice as Arsenal came from behind to beat West Ham and move back above Everton in the race for a Champions League place.
Matt Jarvis headed the Hammers in front as they threatened to extend Arsenal's winless league run to five games.
But Podolski levelled with a shot on the turn two minutes later for the impressive FA Cup finalists.
Olivier Giroud's classy finish and Podolski's driven second sealed the win as Arsenal moved up to fourth.
Fresh from sealing a place in the Cup final courtesy of their penalty shoot-out win over Wigan, the result was just what Arsene Wenger's side needed to enhance their chance of qualifying for the Champions League for a 17th successive season.
With Everton playing against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Wednesday night, the Gunners could ill afford another slip-up following their recent poor league run.
And they showed all the resilience - and quality - needed to stay the pace and hold off the determined challenge of Roberto Martinez's in-form side.
Podolski took his goal tally for the season into double figures, while Giroud's crucial strike, early in the second half, was his 20th of the campaign.
After their efforts expended in ending Wigan's reign as Cup holders, Arsenal, despite making five changes to their starting line-up, actually made a sluggish start to offer West Ham early encouragement.
The Hammers, still seeking points to guarantee their Premier League safety, could have taken advantage with Mohamed Diame lifting their best chance over the top from Andy Carroll's low cross.
Giroud could not claim tiredness as an excuse after starting on the bench at Wembley but Arsenal's leading scorer was guilty of a terrible miss with almost half an hour gone as Wenger's side improved.
The Frenchman was sent clear by Santi Cazorla's fine pass but elected to try to flick the ball past Adrian with the outside of his left foot and failed to generate the power to trouble the West Ham keeper.
And the visitors made Giroud and Arsenal pay five minutes before half-time when they went in front through Jarvis.
Antonio Nocerino's persistence bursting in from the right-hand side created the chance and when the ball popped up in the six-yard box, Jarvis nodded in only his second league goal of the season.
Arsenal would have felt the pressure had they gone in behind at the break but they were quickly level as they found a way through a West Ham defence that had previously kept 13 clean sheets this season.
Again Cazorla was the creator following a poor clearance from Stewart Downing and this time his pass was not wasted as Podolski swivelled to drill a left-foot shot across Adrian and into the bottom corner.
The goal lifted the mood around the Emirates Stadium and 10 minutes into the second half Arsenal went ahead thanks to a touch of class from Giroud.
The striker displayed a brilliant first touch from Thomas Vermaelen's long ball back into the box following a corner and with his second drove the ball through the legs of Adrian from just inside the corner of the six-yard box.
The goal sent further confidence soaring through the home side and rather than sit on their lead they went for a third goal to completely kill the game off.
Podolski saw a fierce free-kick beaten away by Adrian and the outstanding Cazorla was only inches wide with a swerving left-foot shot.
But Arsenal's pressure finally paid off 12 minutes from the end when substitute Aaron Ramsey headed down for Podolski to fire past Adrian and keep the Gunners firing on two fronts.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:
"When the team went through a bad patch with a lack of confidence because of goals going against us, you need to repair that with results and resilience.
"It was a gamble to rest players but I said before the game that it was the oldest team I had played at Arsenal, so I trusted the experience of the players.
"That experience always helps when your backs are against the wall."
"I liked that Giroud used his upper body and got a great first touch to score the goal. He is a great guy and he has gone through a difficult period, but tonight you could see that he is refreshed and he is up for it."
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce:
"After doing so much to get ahead, not going in 1-0 up at half-time was a big disappointment. The second goal sickened me because the performance meant nothing after that. We didn't create enough.
"We've fallen behind in pre-season planning - contracts to new players, along with players in and players out. As soon as you're safe, the planning has to start. That way I don't get shouted at by the wife when I'm on the phone for six hours a day on my holidays."

Charles Novia Shares His Experience At GEJ's Daughter's Wedding

Nollywood producer and director Charles Novia has shared his experience from attending the wedding of Goodluck Jonathan's daughter Faith.

"I just attended the wedding reception of President's Jonathan's daughter, Faith and her husband, Godswill. I am sure most of you saw it live on television but I just might write a behind-the-scene review of what happened in the hall which you could not see. I might write that later.

Let me just give a slice of it; all these big men you guys see in power and out of it are all hustlers like you and me! The rush to enter the hall, ehn? Captains of industries and Government officials were in a flux and fight to enter the hall which was barricaded by stern security men at the International Conference Centre.

The protocol is that once the President enters the hall; the doors are shut and no one gets in or out till the President leaves. So, there was a scramble to enter. Me sef shame for some people. Chai! There were rumpled and creased clothes on people after the scamble. A couple of ladies lost their headscarves and headties and gave us shocking glimpses of their 'Abolo' heads! Chai!

The President's Security detail at the venue were stern but professional. They didn't give a hoot who you were. Orders are orders. Everyone who entered; those that mattered wanted to be seen by the President or First Lady and a small line of diffident favour-seekers or friends was formed but many could not pass through the security detail to just greet Mr President.
Let me shock you guys a bit. The biggest critics of President Jonathan, the opposition parties or cliques, the rabble-rousers and all were mostly there at the wedding! I was shocked! Ehn! Politicians! That's how they deceive you all by crying wolf and abusing the President yet they run to him to prostrate at night or in private! Those of you who follow blindly these people una go see! Be careful!

I even saw Dele Momodu, who lambasts President Jonathan every week for the past four years on Thisday backpage on Saturday, taking pictures and going round shaking hands. He shook my hands too.

Egbon! Look, in politics there are no permanent friends or enemies: just permanent interests!

I must hand it to GEJ, he shielded his family from public glare. I mean; how many of us know he has three biological children and three adopted with this new bride being an adopted child he took in about 15 years ago? Very touching.

The couple got gifts of over 60 brand new cars as presents from what a close source told me. 'Bastardly rich' Nigerians fell over themselves to give presents. Chai! There was a group of orange-scarved women who caused a stampede in the hall after the wedding rushing for gifts and stuff! Wetin? People nor get shame? The presents given to the guests were magnifique! Not anything ostentatious but just cool.

Hmmm... Incredible

Rihanna wants to get a tattoo of Drake’s name

The 'Unapologetic' singer who already has more than 20 pieces of body art has to be certain his feelings for her are permanent before she gets his moniker etched onto her body.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: 'He would have to be her man, like her guy, and it would take time for her to feel like she's the only one he loves, the only one he thinks and dreams about.

'[She needs to know she's] the only one he wants to be with and the only one he wants to know.'

Rihanna's tattoos are meaningful to her, and symbolise an important period in her life.

She has an inking of the Goddess Isis in honour of her late grandmother, Clara 'Dolly' Braithwaite, and if she goes through with one for Drake she'd have to be in love with him.

The sources added: 'Her body means everything to her and every last one of the tattoos on her body symbolises something or someone.

'Her grandmother was her world and she got tatted under her chest symbolising her idol. If she ever put [Drake's] name on her body, that would mean that he had her heart – and that doesn't come easy.'

Before adding: 'But … Drake's well on his way!'

Rihanna has been having her body art complete at Bang Bang Tattoos in New York City since 2007 and her most recent is a large ornate cross etched on the inside of her right wrist.

The ink-mad beauty's other tattoos include a Sanskrit prayer down her thigh and the word love on the middle finger of her left hand, and claims they all have spiritual meanings.

She said in the past: 'My tattoos are all spiritual and show how I feel about religion. I have a falcon which is an Egyptian falcon and is supposed to stand for God.'

Spoiler Alert! Game of Thrones: King Joffrey is dead!

If you think the Purple Wedding scene in the third season of Game of Thrones was that shocking, then you'll probably have a heart attack watching the second episode of season 4!

We have the juicy gist right here: King Joffery is dead! The number one boy/brat you love to hate in the thrilling drama series was killed on his wedding day.

Were we not all shocked when the blonde haired king began choking and eventually died moments after marrying Margaery Tyrell?! Apparently, Joffery had been poisoned during the Red Wedding – his marriage to his new (scheming) wife Margaery.

So the big question is; who killed Joffery? The imp, Uncle Tyrion? his mother Cersei? Or maybe broken-hearted Sansa?

The producers of the show weren't joking when they themed this season 'All men must die'.

‘Dozens’ killed in Abuja bombing, says NEMA

Twin blasts at a packed bus station in Nigeria's capital killed "dozens of people" on Monday, a spokesman for the state-run emergency services said.

"It's correct to say dozens of people were killed following the bomb blasts in Nyanya Bus Park this morning," Manzo Ezekiel of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said.

The cause of the explosions at the Nyanya Bus Park roughly five kilometres (three miles) south of Abuja was not immediately clear.

The city has been attacked previously by Boko Haram insurgents, who say they are fighting to create a strict Islamic state in northern Nigeria.

"We have been able to bring some of the dead to the morgue and some injured have been taken to the hospital," said Charles Otegbade, head of search and rescue at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

He said his team had not yet been able to provide precise figures on casualties.

An AFP reporter at the scene said there were signs of a major explosion, with the remnants of charred vehicles scattered in the area.

Some of the small shops at the station had been damaged or destroyed.

NNEMA spokesman Manzo Ezekiel told AFP that the Nyanya station was crowded with people on their way to work in Abuja when the explosions rang out and that witnesses reported hearing two separate blasts.

Security officials at the scene were working to determine the cause of the explosions.

Boko Haram is blamed for scores of attacks across northern and central Nigeria that have killed thousands since 2009.

In 2011 it carried out a suicide car bombing at a United Nations building in Abuja that killed at least 26 people, one of its most prominent attacks.

Most of the group's recent violence, however, has been in the remote northeast of the country.

An attack on the outskirts of Abuja would cast further doubt on the military's claim that the insurgents have been weakened and lack the capacity to strike prominent targets.

Boko Haram attacks have already killed more than 1,500 people this year, according to Amnesty International.

The Islamists rebels stormed a northeastern village border with Cameroon early Sunday, killing at least 6people with heavy weapons and explosives, a local official said.

I’d rather be miserable than be in a relationship… — Yvonne Okoro

Voluptuous beauty, half-Nigerian, half-Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Okoro, isn't exactly the kind of damsel you would think is in distress. She has nothing on her to cut that image and it doesn't appear her career is in danger either. If the beautifully endowed sexy actress should come under any observation, I guess the lots would be in her favour as she seems to be doing better than ever, career wise.

But her post on the Instagram last week placed a huge question mark on the state of mind of the actress. The declaration " I would rather be lonely and miserable than be in a relationship" wouldn't pass for any woman who is fulfilled as a woman, even though the career is on the up and up.

It wasn't until further checks were run on what could have brought about that rather gloomy assertion that the whole scenario began to make sense. It turned out Yvonne's post was an extract from a previous interview the talented actress granted on relationships.

"If you give me all the attention and make me laugh I think that's it. I am not in a relationship, not because I don't want to. Let me correct that, because you go somewhere and people say `oh, I am happy with just my job' but the truth is nobody is happy being single.

Again you hear  `I don't want to get married now' I think it's a lie.

"In my opinion, it's because your master hasn't come yet. My mother always says that once your master comes you don't need anyone to tell you to go, you'll go. I haven't had my master yet but the truth of the matter is, because of what I do, I meet people.

"However, it's so difficult for me to meet single people, it's so difficult as well to trust people and that is the problem. At a point, you realize that they treated you like a trophy and showed you off because you are on television. The ideal relationship for me would be to hang out with my boyfriend and his friends, who won't even care that I am an actress.

"At this age, I don't see the point of dating someone and knowing deep down that it's not going to go far. I would rather be lonely and miserable than be in a relationship and be happy for a short while; then walk away because I realized this is not the kind of man I want to be with.

I'd rather stay put until my master comes. But what if my master comes at a time I am with somebody, then what, I have to bounce him".

Going by her post last Wednesday, it does appear, the actress hasn't found her master yet and this must have bothered her enough to reach out and tell the world she is still single, willing and very much available.

My heart has been broken, shattered, scattered… — Lillian Esoro

They say no two separate journeys of life are ever the same. The path some have found so smooth is the same path others may see as bumpy, uphill and rough. For Nollywood beauty, Lillian Esoro, popular for her role as 'Nurse Abigail' in the TV soap 'Clinic Matters', her romance with the word 'love' has been as sweet as it has been unsavoury.

" Let's just say I have fallen in love before. Eh, everyone has fallen in love before. Love is a beautiful thing. When I was in love it was like Heaven and I wished the feeling never went away. It was good while it lasted. It's an experience everyone should have" she had told me.

But that experience, according to her doesn't always end well as she made me understand when I asked her if her heart has ever been broken before.

"Oh, broken, scattered, shattered, ironed and everything. It was actually my broken heart that led me to success. After I fell out of love I was so heartbroken that I could not get my mind off it. So, to get my mind off it, I decided to do something else and that led me into forming my own company to start event management business but I don't want to talk about it" she said

As hurtful as the experience was for her, beautiful Lillian still believes in love and feels the right man might just be right at the door.

Michael Jackson’s ex-wife wants guardianship of their children

Debbie Rowe, who was married to the late 'Thriller' star, Michael Jackson, for just under three years, and had children Prince, 17, and Paris, 15, with him, wants to take responsibility for the kids, including Michael's son Blanket, 12, who was reportedly born via surrogate.

According to TMZ, Debbie thinks their grandmother Katherine Jackson, who is the children's legal guardian, is too old to care for them properly.

A source said: 'Debbie is deeply concerned about the environment in the Jackson home. She likes Katherine Jackson but believes she has gotten way too old to serve as guardian.'

She reportedly told a friend: 'Katherine's not connected with the kids or involved in their lives.'

Debbie, 55, is also said to be concerned that Michael's brothers are spending too much time at their Calabasas house in California and have been a 'terrible influence' on the children.

She is also rumoured to be 'upset' with Michael's brother Jermaine, who will appear on 'Celebrity Wife Swap' in coming weeks, because she thinks it's 'extremely inappropriate'.

Debbie is set to file legal documents asking the judge to appoint her guardian so she can move the children to her ranch in Palmdale, California, where she has a business raising and breeding horses.

She originally lost contact with her children after divorcing Michael in 1999, but has been getting closer to them over the last year with the blessing of the Jackson family.

“Return my N1.2m bride price before I divorce you” – policeman tells wife

A policeman, Anthony Ibemere, has told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos, Lagos State, that his wife should return the
₦1.2 million bride price if she insisted on divorce.

Thirty-eight-year-old Anthony was responding to a divorce suit filed by Uloma, his wife of four years, who accused him of battery.

"Uloma should return the money I gave her parents during our traditional marriage if she insists on the dissolution of our four-year-old marriage," he told the court.

He accused his wife of hiding her marital status by telling people she was single.

"She joined a group of single ladies in her church. I went to the church with our wedding pictures as a proof that she's married which led to her
suspension," he said.

Anthony added that Uloma had abandoned their matrimonial home since November 24, 2012, when he informed the church of her
marital status.

He, therefore, pleaded with the court not to grant his wife's request of divorce, saying he still loves her.

Quote:

'He always had s3x with me by force'…Uloma On her part, 27-year-old Uloma, a factory worker, told the court that Anthony turned her into a punching bag mostly when he was drunk.

"My husband is a drunkard. Whenever he comes home drunk and wants to make love to me, I always refuse him. I want him to
make love to me when he's in his right senses.

"And when I refuse him, he will make love to me by force,'' she said. The petitioner alleged that her husband always embarrassed her in public by
calling her 'a prostitute and barren tree.'

She also accused him of threatening her life and giving out her phone number to unknown persons, who were always calling
and warning her not to proceed with the divorce suit or else, she would be killed.

She begged the court to separate them, saying she was tired of the marriage. The case was adjourned till April 16,
2014.

I believe in living natural, the way God made me. I feel naked without my dreadlocks. When I was younger, my mum used to cut my hair and I used to feel so shy and naked. It gives me a lot of confidence" he said.

According to reports, Makinwa's deal with Neslté runs into the millions. She will specifically campaign for one of the Maggi brands, Maggi Chicken.

Toke confirmed the deal while speaking to a NET reporter on the telephone, saying, 'Yes it's true, I will be the new face of Maggi.'

NET sources tell us that Nestlé was actually looking at picking another radio OAP Toolz and were possibly in talks with her but eventually settled with Makinwa because of one simple thing — the latter is married.

'Maggi's brand has to associate with a family woman, you know, someone who basically cooks for a family. Toke is married, Toolz isn't. It's not rocket science,' our source said.

Makinwa got hitched back in January 2014.

Why I poisoned my husband - 14-year-old bride narrates

A 14-year-old bride, Wasila Umar, who allegedly killed her 35-year-old groom, Umar Sani and three other persons in Yansoro Kademi village of Gaya local government area of Kano state, has said that she smeared rat poison on her groom's food because she was forced to marry him. It was gathered that after her husband ate the poisoned dinner with three others, they all died.

It was learnt that while the husband and two others died less than an hour after eating the food, the fourth, a girl who also ate, died at Gaya General Hospital the very next day. However, ten out of the 14 persons that ate from the poisoned food survived.
Wasila got married to Late Umar Sani who was a trader based in Gaya, two weeks ago. Before his marriage to Waslia, late Sani had a wife and two children. In the tradition of the Yansoro Kademi people, a newly wedded wife is not allowed to cook for a month, an aspect a senior wife takes care of during the period.

"It was during this period that the first wife cooked a local dish, 'Dan-Wake', and served it to the husband," a neighbor said. He further added that while the husband was in his room, the new wife sneaked into the sitting room and smeared rat poison on the food. It was also revealed that, when the groom came in, he took the food outside, was joined by 13 others and after eating the meal, they started complaining of severe stomach pain. "As villagers we don't usually like eating alone, therefore he brought out the food and ate with his neighbors, then gave the remnants to Nasiru Muhammad who is an Almajiri and also a local spaghetti hawker, Hindatu Ibrahim, aged 13.

"Within a very short period, the husband and two others died. The young girl was rushed to Gaya general hospital where she later died," he said. As a result of the sudden death of the trio, the villagers reported the case to Gaya divisional police station and both wives were detained and interrogated, after which the new wife confessed. At the Kano State police headquarters, Bompai, Wasila told Weekly Trust how it happened. "When my father told me that I should marry Umar Sani, I told him I don't love the man but he refused. Before our marriage I told him again, he beat me up and said I must marry him.

So after our wedding I started thinking of what to do and the idea of rat poison came to me. I went to the village market and bought it for N80, returned home and hid it. When our husband's food was served in the sitting room, I went there and spread the poison over it," she said, explaining that it was not meant for the other 13 others who were just victims of circumstance. "I did not mean to kill my husband, but rather wanted to show him that I have no feelings for him. I thought after eating it, he will divorce me and I will return to my father's house," she concluded.

However, when contacted, her father, Mohammed Tasiu , aged 50, denied his daughter's claim. "I didn't collect a kobo from the deceased. She was the one that brought him to us as her choice. Before him she has brought two other persons to us but later told us she doesn't love them and that was why when she brought Umar Sani we allowed her to marry him," he said. Parading her, the spokes person of Kano State Police Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya, identified the rat poison used by Wasila as 'rodenticides'. He said a total of 14 persons ate the food but that only four died.

"The suspect has since confessed to the act and claimed that she did it because she doesn't love her husband. Corpses were taken to hospital for examination. Investigation is in top gear," he said.

Bukola Saraki Promises To Deliver Kwara State To APC In 2015 Elections

Dr Bukola Saraki yesterday reaffirmed his resolve to totally deliver the state to All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 general elections.

Speaking in Ilorin, Kwara State, shortly after the conduct of APC's local government congresses, the former governor of the state also expressed satisfaction over the smooth and peaceful conduct of the congresses across the state.

He participated in the exercise in Ilorin west local government area, where all the 25 executives of the party were elected through affirmation by the delegates.

The elated Saraki declared:

"Those that still want to learn in history, be rest assured that Kwara is solidly an All Progressives Congress (APC) state. Here, we are one family, here we are committed in delivering in total the entire Kwara State to the APC family.

"Those we have today as Ilorin west local government executives, I charge you to all go out and start the work of winning the state to the APC. We have less than eleven months to the 2015 elections and we must start the work now.

"We do not want to give any vote, we want to win total. We want to send a message across Nigeria, we want to send a message to the pretenders that in Kwara state we are not seasonal politicians.

Afrocandy Explains Why She Is For Begging For Funds

Actress, Afrocandy who took to her facebook page some days ago to beg for funds to send her daughter to school in a recent interview revealed for her reason for publicly begging for money.

Here's what she said:

"Actually, my daughter got a scholarship from the Ivy League universities that accepted her, but we were preparing, her school mates that were supposed to go to the same school opted out because they said the school is too expensive and didn't get scholarship. So, because of that, my daughter said she did not want to go there alone because it's far from where we live and more of a white neighborhood.

That was when it dawned on me.Yes, we opted for one of the schools that also accepted her, but the only thing is I have to foot the bills before I am able to get my money – that's if I will ever get it.

The whole thing crushed my plans. I know most people will abuse me, but I count on the support from my fans. Lots of them have been calling in, sending messages, telling me they are worried about my situation. Even though some of them cannot afford to help me, it brings tears to my eyes to see that I'm still loved by so many.

That means the world to me. Some of them have even been sending in money through Paypal and bank account. Is that not something? So, I don't bother about the people laughing at me."

EFCC seizes N104m from Bayelsa governor's wife

By Punch, Monday, 11 Sep 2006

About N104m allegedly laundered by Patience, wife of Bayelsa State Governor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has been temporarily seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision. The seizure came on the heels of an ex parte application before a Federal High Court, Abuja by the Chairman of the EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. The commission had in the application, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondents on Sunday, said it suspected that the N104m was public money. It said that Patience laundered the sum in two tranches - N70m and N34m - through one Mrs. Nancy Ebere Nwosu. Nwosu, a business associate of Patience, is said to have made statements to the EFCC incriminating the governor`s wife.

UPDATE: Alleged fraud: I'll cooperate with EFCC - Jonathan

September 13, 2006: The Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Jonathan Goodluck, on Tuesday said he would cooperate with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to unravel the mystery surrounding the alleged laundering of N104m to which his wife, Patience, has been linked.

CASE 2:

$13,000,000: On September 11, 2006, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seized $13.5 million dollars (US) from Mrs. Patience Jonathan, the wife of then Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan.

The International Herald Tribune quoted the EFCC spokesman, Mr. Osita Nwajah, as saying that the seizure was made after Mrs. Jonathan had allegedly laundered the money through an associate.

It was the second time in one month Mrs. Jonathan was hitting the scandal headlines. In August, the EFCC had obtained a court order to temporarily freeze N104 million she had allegedly tried to launder through one Mrs. Nancy Ebere Nwosu. The EFCC said it had reason to believe the seized funds belonged to the public. In a sworn statement, Mrs. Nwosu implicated Patience Jonathan, the EFCC said.

But remember, her husband was the Bayelsa State Governor at the time. And Mr. Jonathan's government dashed to the defence of the First Lady of Bayelsa, alleging that the reports were part of a "plot to destabilize" the state. Government spokesmen were falling over each other to speak for Mrs. Jonathan. The Governor's spokesman, Dennis Sami, described the allegations as a "charade," the target of which the Governor.

UPDATE; July 18, 2011

CAGIL Sues EFCC Over Patience Jonathan's Laundering/Fraud By Nigeria2Day Online A civil society group, Coalition Against Impunity and Illegality (CAGIL) says it will continue with its suit against the EFCC for refusing to and bring to justice, the First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, over allegation of money laundering to the tune of $12.5 million (about N1.9 billion).

The suit, which was filed at a Federal High Court in Lagos is praying for an order of Mandamus, compelling the EFCC to either prosecute the First Lady or make an official clarification on the allegation. Filed by the law firm of Rhaman Senge, under Order 34 Rules 1 and 3 of the Federal High Court Procedure Rule 209, the suit wants the court to declare that refusal or failure of the EFCC to act by prosecuting the First Lady is abdication of its public duty, imposed on it by Sections 6 & 7 of EFCC Act of 2004. According to CAGIL, the anti-graft agency had publicly declared on September 11, 2006, via its then spokesman, Osita Nwajah, that Mrs. Jonathan, who was then the First Lady of Bayelsa State, was nabbed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while attempting to smuggle out a whopping $12.5million.

The EFCC then claimed that it immediately impounded the money, while adding that another sum of N104 million was traced to her foreign account, which the commission believed was far beyond her legitimate earnings as at the time.

CAGIL wondered why the story was ended just like that, regretting that Nigerians who eagerly expected justice in the case had waited in vain for more than four years. "It is not on record that the EFCC took further actions on those startling revelations. At least, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, to public knowledge, was never subjected to any legal actions. Are we in a country where some are more equal than others?," CAGIL asked.

The group went further to state that: "The First Lady has no constitutional immunity. She should be given the opportunity to defend herself. We seek a comprehensive legal action on this matter and call on the EFCC to take necessary steps to recover the money traced to her foreign account to the coffers of the Federal Government or Bayelsa State, if that is where it belongs without delay and make the First Lady face justice, if found culpable," the body insisted.

The group's General Secretary, Comrade Mark Adebayo, said CAGIL deliberately allowed the April General elections to be successfully completed before taking up the First Lady's case because the body does not want to be misconstrued and labeled as working for the opposition.

He explained that since President Goodluck Jonathan has not shown that he is influencing the anti-graft bodies in the performance of their duties, it behooves the EFCC not to leave any room for suspicion. The civil society group had earlier on June 27 petitioned the EFCC not only on the First Lady's case but also on the commission's foot-dragging in recovering from prominent Nigerians the N40billion looted funds of the defunct national carrier, the Nigeria Airways Limited (NAL).

"The Nigeria Airways was the safest national carrier in Africa in the 1970s-80s but a combination of mindless corruption mal-administration and policy misdirection led to its collapse prompting the former President Olusegun Obasanjo to institute in 2000 a seven members probe panel led by retired Justice Obiora Nwazota to look into its demise and recommend appropriate sanction. Findings of the Justice Nwazota panel which were accepted by the government was scandalously shocking as its revealed that a whopping total of $254,257,529.65 million; £1,792,796.72 million and N548,380,248,38 million (totaling N39,045,569,039,88 billion ) was looted from the NAL through tax fraud, contract inflation, ticketing scam, fake projects, commissions scam, fake premiums, bonds and loans; misappropriation and outright stealing. The panel also recommended the swift recovery of all the stolen money of NAL and criminal prosecution of those indicted.

Husband begs court to release alleged kidnapper-wife

A staffer of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, Mr. Jude Obi, whose 33-year-old wife, Mrs. Grace Obi, was arraigned at a Magistrate Court, Otor-Udu, Delta State, for allegedly masterminding her own kidnapping and collecting N1.5 million ransom from him, has pleaded with the court to free his wife.
Mrs. Obi and Ogbona Onu were arraigned on  March 21, on a three-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

Mr. Okoye, however, told the court, "I want to go home since it is a family affair and the person involved is my wife. I do not want a broken home."
He said he was the one who reported the matter in the first instance at the Ovwian Police Station and no longer wants to prosecute the case, having forgiven the accused persons.

The DPR staffer also told the court that he had sworn to an affidavit to that effect, which he submitted at Ovwian Police Station, but the police insisted on charging the matter to court. It was learnt that the wife needed money for her business, but her persistent plea to the husband to give her money was rebuffed, which made her to resort to the kidnapping  and extortion.

She was also said to be pregnant and the man did not want her to go through the ordeal of trial. Based on the formal withdrawal of the matter by the complainant against the accused persons, Senior Magistrate Duku Tadafe discharged the accused persons and struck out the case. Responding to the order, Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba,  said the magistrate had no authority to discharge and acquit a kidnap suspect and challenged her to prove otherwise.

The magistrate reportedly  realized her error and got Mrs. Obi and Onu back to the court on March 26 for fresh arraignment, but the police prosecutor, Corporal Godwin Ovuefere,  was said to have refused to  prosecute the matter, saying his superior, who had written the court for the formal proceedings of March 21, directed him to  steer clear.

Left with no option, Senior Magistrate Tadafe made a fresh order, April 1, nullifying her March 21 order that discharged and acquitted the accused persons.

National coordinator of the Forum for Justice and Human Rights Defence, FJHD, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi, whose organization conducted inquiry into the matter in conjunction with the Centre for the Vulnerable and the Underprivileged, CENTREP, said the police should comply with the order of the court to re-arrest and re-arraign the accused persons, rather than castigating the magistrate.
