Eminem was honoured with the Global Icon award at the
2013 MTV Europe Music Awards
Sunday, November 10, 2013 was one big day for residents
of Amsterdam as they witnessed one of the biggest shows –
the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The 2013 edition of the awards held at the Ziggo Dome
saw US rapper Eminem emerge as the biggest winner of
the night as he was honoured with the 'Global Icon' award.
He also walked away with the 'Best Hip Hop artiste'
beating Drake, Jay Z, Kanye West and Macklemore and
Ryan Lewis.

Three-time past winner Katy Perry picked up her first
'Best Female' award, while Miley Cyrus won her first-ever
EMA for 'Best Video' for 'Wrecking ball'.
Bruno Mars won 'Best Song' for 'Locked out of Heaven'
and Justin Bieber won 'Best Male' for a fourth straight
year!

Asian act Chris Lee won the 'Worldwide Act' award.
Nigerian acts Psquare and Wizkid had been nominated in
the earlier stage of the awards.

According to MTV, there was a record breaking 292
million votes registered to help decide the '2013 MTV
EMA' winners.
