Gov, Amaechi Leads Govs To Sokoto For Retreat

Chairman, Nigeria Governors' Forum, NGF and
Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi will today lead
other governors to Sokoto State for a two- day retreat.
The governors who will arrive Sokoto State today under the
auspices of Amaechi led Nigeria Governors' Forum is
expected to have in attendance all the thirty- Six governors,
just as Governors Jonah Jang of Plateau State, Emmanuel
Uduaghan of Delta; Henry Seriake of Bayelsa State; Olusegun
Mimiko of Ondo; Godswill Akpabio; Peter Obi of Anambra;
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of Edo; Babatunde Fashola of
Lagos; Isa Yuguda of Bauchi; Ibrahim Shema of Katsina; the
chairman of the Northern States Governors' Forum, NSGF,
and governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu; Rabiu
Kwakwanso of Kano; Sule Lamido of Jigawa; Murtala
Nyako of Adamawa ; Aliyu Wamakko and Abdulfattah
Ahmed of Kwara, among others.
The letter of Invitation to the Governors which was signed by
the Director-General, Asishana Okauru read, " Re: Retreat
for Nigerian Governors
"You are kindly invited to attend a 2-day Retreat for the 36
Governors to be hosted by the Sokoto State Governor
scheduled as follows: Venue: Government House, Sokoto,
Date: Friday 15th & Saturday 16th November, 2013. "
According to him, the retreat will focus on Forensic
examination of NNPC & FAAC; Leaving a sustainable
legacy; Deepening democracy & federalism; Insecurity at the
sub-national level; Constitutionalism, Rule of law &human
rights. We have lined up a number of very excellent
professionals to guide this process."
Meanwhile, Governor Jang factional NGF has condoled with
governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State over the death of his
father.
According to the statement, "The chairman of the Nigeria
Governors Forum and governor of Plateau state, Jonah Jang
has extended his condolences to the governor of Katsina state,
Ibrahim Shema over the loss of his father, Alhaji Shehu
Shema.
"Governor Jang praised the community leadership of the late
Shema and called on the Shema family to be proud of their
Patriach's legacy.
He further said members of the forum will have the Shema
family in their prayers as they mourn their loss."
