Super Eagles players John Obi Mikel, skipper Vincent
Enyeama, Emmanuel Emenike, Sunday Mba,
and Ahmed Musa have all been shortlisted for this year's
Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Player
of the Year award.
The five Nigerian footballers join 20 other African
nominees including title-holder Yaya Toure, Galatasaray
star, Didier Drogba and Borussia Dortmund attacker
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all gunning for the coveted
title.
Surprisingly, Nigerian striker Victor Moses is missing from
the list.
The winner will be announced at the CAF Awards Gala on
Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.
