Source has learnt.
Source were told that the pair who has been seen one too many
times in the past few months are madly in love with each
other even though they've been keeping it under the wraps.
It is believed that the lovebirds met on the set of Charles
Novia's award winning comedy flick 'Alan Poza', back in
2012 and grew fond of each other since then.
'They got quite close on the set of the movie. But they've
been very careful to keep it on the down low', a source told
our correspondent.
Speaking with Akindoju, the actress denied the romantic
affair, categorically stating that they were just 'very close
friends'. 'We are just friends, there is nothing between us
romantically', Lala laughed as she spoke with our
correspondent. Sources tell us Lala once dated Red Media's
Chude Jideonwo and was at a point very close friends with
music producer Cobhams Asuquo.
Sources also spoke with Ukeje about the love affair. He also
denied it, reaffirming what Lala said, 'We are just close
friends'.
Ukeje and Lala are currently in Calabar attending the on-
going Africa International Film Festival.
Ukeje, who is fast becoming the leading man in Nollywood
started out as a stage performer, shot into limelight and won
the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality television
show in 2007. He went on to win the African Movie
Academy Awards (AMAA) for the 'Best Upcoming Actor'
in 2008. His growing profile continued when he won 'Best
Lead Actor' at the Nigeria Movie Awards (NMA) in 2013.
Akindoju who has a degree in Insurance from the
University of Lagos, ventured into the world of dramatic
arts way back in 2005 and made her break when she won
the Future Awards for 'Best Actress' in 2010. She's been
involved in the highest tie of drama and theatre in Nigeria.
Having set up her own production outfit, the 'Make It
Happen Productions', Lala has been able to set up ground-
breaking initiatives in the industry – Open Mic Theatre,
The V Monologues – and is currently the casting director
for Ndani TV while she teaches at Joke Silva's LUFODO,
a school for the arts.
