Leading telecommunications company, Globacom has unveiled plans for the second edition of its special music concert,"Glo Evergreen series" which is dedicated to honour legendary Nigerian musicians for their outstanding performances and contributions to the development and growth of the nation's music industry.
According to a statement released by Globacom, the second edition of Glo Evergreen Series is dedicated to King Sunny Ade, the music maestro and legendary composer for his consistency in the past 50 years and contribution to the juju music genre.
The statement added that the special concert will hold at the
prestigious Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on
February, 28 with King Sunny Ade as the headline act. The night will feature a blend of classic and contemporary music as the Koko master and talented entertainer, D' Banj and top
saxophonist Yemi Sax will join King Sunny Ade on stage to entertain the guests.
The first Glo Evergreen Series honoured Chief Ebenezer Obey, one of the juju music legends in Nigeria in "a night of fun, glamour, glitz and good music" on 28 of September, 2013. Chief Obey in collaboration with M.I and Yemi Sax thrilled the audience comprising captains of industries, top
government officials and Globacom's premium subscribers.
Globacom said that the Glo Evergreen Series "is a celebration
of Nigerian music and true values of the legend on parade."
King Sunny Ade's fans who cut across the young, industrialists, top administrators, socialites and political aficionados are expected as special guests at the event which the organizers said is strictly by invitation.
"This event is organized primarily to honour and reward Globacom's high networth subscribers. It is our modest way of saying thank you to them for their massive support", said Globacom in a statement released on the event.
The Glo Evergreen Series holds quarterly and each edition features a music legend that will play alongside young and talented popular musicians.
