Etisalat sacks 2 000 workers

Lagos - More telecoms workers have joined the labour market as telecommunications giant, Etisalat Nigeria has sacked over two thousand permanent staff across the country.

The decision to lay off the workers became necessary because the company is said to be broke and can no longer retain the permanent work force, reports CKN Nigeria.

The company has since paid off the sacked workers.

In their stead, the company plans to hire casual or ad-hoc staff to run the operations of the company.
