A member of the House of Representatives and governorship aspirant in Ekiti State under the platform of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, on Thursday declared that his political structure was strong and popular enough to defeat the
incumbent governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2014 guber poll.
Bamidele, who represents Ado/Irepodun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, said the Labour Party was a veritable platform that would further reinforce his hope of emerging victorious at next year's governorship election in
the state.
Bamidele spoke in Ado Ekiti, the state capital during the
grand finale tour of the 16 local government council
areas in furtherance of his governorship ambition.
"I have a strong political structure and goodwill to dislodge
the incumbent, Governor Kayode Fayemi in any election.
LP has further enhanced my popularity among the people",
he said.
He advised the ruling party in the state to refrain from
harassing his supporters, saying, "No amount of threat will
make me back down on the governorship race. The
tentacles of LP have spread across the state.
"This is a mission that we must actualize and a race that I
must pursue to the end. Ekiti needs serious intervention at
this critical time", Bamidele maintained.
