Talented RnB singer Waje won the award for 'Best
Reggae/Dancehall Single' at The Headies 2013 on
December 26, 2013 but another nominee Orezi isn't
happy with the organizers' decision.
Waje picked up the award for her performance on
the Reggae-inspired 'I wish' beating Orezi's
'Rihanna', General Pype's 'Give it to me' and
Baba Dee's 'Go down'. The song was produced by
Psquare drummer Joseph 'Papy J' Ameh and
released in September 2012.
'What a wonderful way to end the year, thanks to
my management', Waje said. Shortly after Waje
was announced winner and picked up her award on
stage from Toolz, Orezi took to his Twitter account
to express his feelings;
'And waje won the best ragga dance hall song wit I
wish at the #headies. It's ok', @iamorezi wrote on
the micro-blogging site.
Interestingly, the category which was scraped in
2011 was re-introduced this year due to 'popular
demand', organizers say.
