The District Head of Izge, Mallam Bulama Apagu and Madagali Council Chairman, Mr. Maina Ularamu, Monday,
said the death toll in Saturday's Boko Haram attacks at Izge
has increased from 100 to 121, following the retrievals of
more bodies in destroyed houses, bushes and farmlands.
The bodies were brought for burial by their relatives. The
victims were said to have been killed when they fled their
homes into the bush during the attack by the insurgents.
Council chairman, Maina Ulamanu, in a telephone chat with
Vanguard, said 60 bodies were buried Sunday evening,
including the 31 bodies of people retrieved from the market
square.
