The Guinean leader has been invited by President John Mahama to Ghana's Independence Anniversary in fulfillment of a desire to deepen existing relations with Ghana's long-standing friendly neighbours.
Ghana's historical relations with Guinea go way back to the 1950s when the two countries established diplomatic relations. Guinea became home to Ghana's first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah after he was overthrown in the 1966 military
