there are many ways to do it. I like having goals, ideas and
aspirations, but sometimes I need to get a little bit more
practical when it comes to achieving them. Here are some
easy ways to reach your goals.
1. Lists
I like writing a to-do list. Even the thought of crossing out
things done gets me so excited that I want to achieve more
goals. Make a list of all things that need to be completed to
reach your goals and cross them out as you go. If it's a long
running goal each Saturday or Sunday write a list of what
should be done during the week ahead.
2. Vision board
Another way to reach your goals is to create your own vision
board. Fill it with all things, achievements and experiences
you want and stick it somewhere you will be able to see it
every day. Seeing is believing, girls. Use your vision board as
the technique to reach your goals.
3. Small steps
You might know the end goal, but just the thought of
achieving it can be a little frightening. Don't forget that all big
moves and achievements that have ever taken place are made
up of lots of small steps. Start small, tackle those big daunting
tasks and cope with one small step in the right direction at a
time.
4. Be sure
Before you start achieving your goal, make sure that it's a
realistic goal and it's really what you want. Sometimes we fail
to reach our goals because we lose motivation and steam, this
can happen because it was not something that we really
wanted. Make sure that your goal isn't only achievable, but
that you actually want it.
5. Friends
Recently I recruited my best friend to help me stay on track
with my goal. Each Saturday we meet for coffee and we run
through with what I reached since we last met and what's on
my to-do list for the week ahead. It's a great motivator to
know that someone will be checking over things and a great
excuse to have a good catch-up with your best friend once a
week!
6. Plan
We can't actually get to where we desire to go if we don't
know where we are going. So, one of the most important
ways to reach your goals is to make a plan. Set both short
term and long term goals and check up on yourself regularly
to make sure that you're still on track.
7. Reward
While you're working towards your goals, reward yourself for
making progress along the way. You have to decide when you
will treat yourself. Recently I was working on a big project
and after working hard most evenings I'd treat myself to
brunch on Sunday morning and an absolutely work free
afternoon!
8. The light ahead
If you've ever run a full marathon, you know how great it is
to see a marker every now and again highlighting your
progress and how far you should go until the finish line. Set
yourself goals, mile stones that show you how far you've
come and how far until you've succeeded in achieving your
goals.
Give yourself have a chance and a plan, everything is
possible! Do you know some other ways to reach goals? Share
your thoughts, please!
