Queen Elizabeth gets Paris honour with flower market named after her

PARIS  (AFP) – Under grey skies but with hundreds cheering "Vive la Reine", Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday had Paris's best-known flower market named after her, capping a wildly successful three-day state visit to France.

The star draw at D-Day commemorations in France attended by an A-list of world leaders, the 88-year-old monarch permanently secured her place in the French capital following a moving ceremony in the heart of a city she is said to be extremely fond of.

Although located near the emblematic Notre Dame cathedral, and more ominously the Conciergerie — where French queen Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned before being guillotined following the 1789 French Revolution — the mood of the hundreds strong crowd around the market seemed anything but republican.

As the queen and Prince Philip entered the picturesque market in the historic Ile de La Cite district accompanied by French President Francois Hollande and Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, an immense cheer rose from the crowd.

"We chopped up the head of our king but she is our queen by proxy," said Aymeric Juranicks, a Parisian in his forties.
"She is dearly loved in France because she is simple and not standoffish," said Linda Messine, a French pensioner seeing the queen for the very first time.

Before coming to the market, the queen — who wore a light pink dress and matching hat — first went to Paris's city hall where she was welcomed by mayor Hidalgo to the strain of bagpipes.

She then crossed across the Seine to rename the "flower market" as it was earlier known. It was one of the places she visited during her first trip to France in 1948.

She was a princess then, recently married to Philip and pregnant with Charles. The queen recalled that trip at a state banquet Friday speaking of the enormous pleasure she felt at visiting "this beautiful country".

After briefly being shown around the square around the market — which boasts lovely metal pavilions and dates back to the early 19th century — Hidalgo lauded the queen as a dearly loved figure in France.

"We know of your Majesty's fondness for Paris," Hidalgo said. "You have secured the affection of the French …. and Parisians."
She said the renaming of the market was a sign of France's gratitude for the role of the British in helping liberate the country during World War II.

- 'She's always done us proud' -

"Parisians today bow to you and say a heartfelt thank you," Hidalgo said, amid rousing cries of "Long live the Queen" in French.

The queen walked around the square adjoining the market, speaking to injured French and British soldiers who had cycled in from Brussels the night before to raise money for charity to rehabilitate wounded war veterans.

She was then serenaded by a band from the Paris Conservatory, which struck up a lilting 'Lil Darling' — a jazz tune made popular by Count Basie. The queen's childhood nickname was Lilibet.

Earlier as she toured the market, the band played a range of classics including Fly me to the Moon, Summertime and On the Sunny Side of the Street, apparently amongst the royal favourites.

At the end of her walkabout, the queen unveiled a plaque to mark her visit as well as a street sign bearing the market's new name.

As she left, the crowd was still reeling under the royal magic, with many conscious that it would probably be the last time they saw her in person.

"Now she's always be a bit of Paris," visiting Briton Paul Jenkins said.

"She's always done us proud, our Queen. God bless her."
But the renaming drew condemnation from some quarters.

Paris city councillor Danielle Simonnet from the far-left PG party slammed Hidalgo's "deference" to royalty.
"Paris is honouring the Queen of England and has not yet honoured any figures from the French Revolution, like Robespierre," said Simonnet.

Explosion rocks Gombe Gov’s house

Two soldiers were, yesterday, killed in an explosion that rocked the private residence of Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo at Government Reservation Area (GRA), in Gombe metropolis.

The explosion which was heard several kilometres away from the scene also wounded six other soldiers.

The soldiers were said to be on guard, manning an armoured tank permanently stationed by the gate of the governor's house for security.

Boko Haram, which has waged an increasingly deadly insurgency in northern Nigeria since 2009, killing thousands, has carried out deadly attacks in Gombe in the past.

Army-warThe cause of the explosion was, however, not known at press time.

There were three accounts of the cause of the explosion.

An AFP source said four people were killed when a pick-up truck loaded with grain bags exploded, near the home of Gombe State Governor.

"The van was moving when it exploded and killed the two men inside it and two soldiers inside the armoured vehicle was stationed near the governor's personal house," the source said on condition of anonymity.

"It is not clear if the governor's house was the target or if the explosives went off prematurely before they reached their destination."

It was not immediately clear if the explosion — which was heard across the city — was the handiwork of Boko Haram militants or politically motivated.

The blast happened at about 6:30 pm (1730 GMT) near the private residence of Gombe state governor Ibrahim Dankwambo in the upscale Government Reserve area of the state capital.

Another account, as revealed by the Senior Assistant to the governor on media, Alhaji Mansur Lawal, said that excessive heat, prompted some explosives in the armoured tank to explode.

He said there was no attack whatsoever on the governor's private residence or anywhere in the town.

"What happened was that there was excessive heat, which caused the explosion. You know that in the tank, there are guns and bullets.

"Two soldiers were killed by the explosion while six others were injured. There was no attack at all."

According to Lawal, the incident occurred at about 7 pm.

He also stated that the wounded soldiers had been taken to the hospital for medical attention just as the fire that ensued from the explosion had also been put out.

He further said that the governor had appealed for calm in the metropolis.

Third account, from a resident of the town, said the explosion must have emanated from mishandling of some explosives in the armoured tank.

According to him, the place had been cordoned off by security men.

Meanwhile, Vanguard learnt that the explosion initially caused a stir as residents thought it was an attack by insurgents on Gombe, it being a boundary state to Borno where Boko Haram had carried out several deadly attacks.

Barely a week after some suspected cultists raided the female hostel of the Benue State University, BSU, another gang in the early hours of Tuesday attacked and molested some female students of the College of Advanced and Professional Studies, CAPS, in Makurdi, the state capital.

Sources told Vanguard in the institution that the armed men, numbering over 12, broke into the hostel at about 5 am while the students were fast asleep.

Shocking News: Massive Weapons Found In Zamfara Lawmaker’s Residence

Fear has gripped residents of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital following the discovery of arms and ammunition, including grenade in the residence of a lawmaker(names with held) in the state by security operatives. As the news of the scary discovery spread in Gusau and neigbouring Tsafe town, there was panic and tension as motorists and residents struggled for safety, resulting in a gridlock.

A source who pleaded anonymity, told Daily Sun that the raid on the lawmaker's residence followed a tip-off. According to sources , some men who were arrested with arms in Kano, made confessional statement that they kept their arms and ammunition in the Zamfara lawmaker's house.

"We learnt that it was based on this revelation that the security operatives stormed his two houses in Tsafe town and Takama in Gusau metropolis," a source said. It was further gathered that following the raid, several AK47 rifles, boxes of live ammunition and several tins of teargas were discovered in the legislator's residence in Gusau, while a grenade was discovered in his house at Tsafe.

Checks by Daily Sun revealed that the incident occurred after a top notcher of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) was invited for questioning about a month ago for his alleged romance with cattle rustlers in the state.

Observers in the state attributed the current trend to the extension of insurgency in the North. When contacted, the embattled lawmaker maintained that he was invited by security agents and he had made a written statement.

Speaking on the development, Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), in the state, DSP Lawal Abdullahi, said the raid was carried out by a special team from Abuja but declined further comment on the matter.

Politicians contributing to insecurity in Nigeria —Gov Idris

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has blamed politicians in the country for contributing to the current insecurity in the country.

He said that politicians employ the services of thugs and hooligans warning, however, that the state government would deal with anybody who patronised thugs or encouraged any act of violence with the approach of the 2015 general elections in the country.

Wada spoke yesterday, during the third anniversary of the  Kogi State House of Assembly, in Lokoja.

The governor said that the state government will no longer tolerate thuggery, hooliganism and indiscipline and asked politicians in the state not to patronise thugs or encourage any act of violence as the government would deal decisively with offenders.

According to Wada, acts of thuggery and hooliganism as encouraged by the political class had contributed greatly to the insecurity being witnessed in the country now.

"The era of thuggery and acts inimical to peace and security of lives and property of the people of the state have gone for good. The concern of every politician now is to see to the development of the state.

"I urge the political players in the state not to engage youths as thugs for whatever purpose and should not by any means patronise thuggery.

"Any one caught in the act of thuggery would not be spared,  no matter how highly placed in the society," Wada said, urging politicians to use their body language to discourage hooliganism that used to characterise the state's political landscape in the past.

The governor also called on the people of the state to be security conscious, pointing out that security was everybody's business hence it should not be left in the hands of security agencies or government alone

5 Must-Match Areas for a Happy Relationship

It's like walking into a candy store. Every eye color, profession, height, geography, spirituality, sense of humor and passion wait for you when you log in to the site. In a way, it's a fantasy coming true – all you have to do is choose.

There's no longer a need to go out to a pub or the library and hope your perfect one walks through the door. You can decide in detail who to search for, up to the size of her or his shoe.

Yet once you meet away from the screen, reality sets in. How can you know if your date's a good fit?

1) Values

We all have guideposts to help us move through life and create a path we can be proud of and happy about. Consider which values are non-negotiable and which have wiggle room.

Some vegetarians, for example, lead happy lives with carnivores while others wouldn't go out on a date with them. Similarly, if you and your date have conflicting religious or political believes, you might face additional challenges. It doesn't mean the relationship won't work, yet it's definitely something to consider.

2) Sense of Humor

A sense of humor is one of the more diverse traits humanity has. People find different things funny and they bring up humor at all kinds of times.

A sense of humor can reflect how a person lives her or his life, how they treat others and themselves and what they value, so pay attention to your partner's sense of humor and to how she or he responds to yours.

3) The Way You Express Love

Some people like to talk and others like to show. Some view expressing love as buying each other elaborate gifts while others prefer simple, daily gestures. Some are romantics and others mix love with cynicism. Some goof around all the time and others need serious moments.

Think of how you'd like to express your love for your partner and how you'd like your partner to express love for you. You could teach each other how to treat you, but don't go into a relationship hoping you'll change them down the line.

4) Your Goals and Dreams

Whether you want to have kids, where you want to live and how much money you're comfortable having are just the beginning. Are you career-driven and your partner is not? Do you love the thrill of entrepreneurship while they need the security of a regular job? Are you all about self-growth and they don't deal well with change? Do you want to travel the world and live a nomadic lifestyle and your partner prefers the community that comes with setting roots?

You don't need to have identical goals and dreams for the relationship to last – and compromise is part of any relationship – yet consider in advance what you're willing to compromise and what you can't live without.

5) Your Relationships With Yourselves

How much you love yourself and invest in your own life is how much you'll be truly emotionally available to love another. Don't look to be someone's better half, but your own full person building a richer life with another full person.

Create a healthy relationship with your body, your mind and your soul, and choose someone who's creating a healthy relationship with her or himself. That's ingredient number one for a healthy relationship with each other.

Police arraign 8 LASU students over fee protest

Eight protesting students of the Lagos State University, LASU, arrested by the Police on Tuesday were, yesterday, arraigned before an Ikeja chief magistrate's court for alleged breach of public peace.

NANS-LASU1

The students were arraigned before Magistrate Eniola Fabanwo for conducting themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace.

Moments after the charges were read to them by the court registrar, they all pleaded not guilty to the one count offence.

The students, who were brought to the court untidy, alleged that they were maltreated by the Police, who apart from beating them also forced them to evacuate waste from a septic tank.

They were accused of allegedly hijacking a vehicle, LAGBUS No P004 with number plate SMK 719 XK, property of Lagos State Government.

The five male and three female students arraigned are Bolarinwa Olamide (male, 23 ), Oludare Samuel Olayinka (male, 18), Oni Victoria (female, 18), Fatukasi Timilehin (male, 19) and Babatunde Bolarinwa (male, 24).

Others are Ajayi Taiwo (female, 24 ), Olatimihan Taiwo (female, 20) old and Akani Segun (male, 27).

The trial magistrate has since granted them bail in the sum of N10,000 each with a surety each, who should be their relative.

According to the Police, the students allegedly committed an offence which contravenes Section 166 (D) of the Criminal Laws No 11 Vol. 44 Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

The LASU students took to the streets in Lagos, Tuesday, causing traffic gridlock along the Lagos‑Abeokuta expressway, protesting hike in their school fees.

They also blocked the road leading to the domestic wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, forcing motorists to spend hours in traffic.

Our wards are not students —Parents

Meanwhile, some parents of three of those arraigned have argued that their wards were not students, but were wrongly arrested by the Police while walking along the streets during the protest. They urged the government to intervene to ensure the release of their children.

Earlier, the protesting students had urged Governor Babatunde Fashola to direct the closure of the institution's payment and registration portal, but there was no response from the authorities.

They also demanded that the state government immediately reverse fees payable to N48,500 maximum or nothing.

The new fees are: Education, N193,750; Social and Management Science, N223,750; Law, 248,750; Communication/School of Transport, N238,750; Science, N258,750; Engineering, N283,750; College of Medicine, N308,750.

Photos: Check Out The Lady Who’s Reported To Be Davido’s Wonder Woman

Many refer to Her [Nish Kards] as the Kim Kardashian of Ghana. And with her banging body and some resemblance to Kim, she dated Davido until enewsgh blog recently published the following story: Nigerian, musician, Davido, has really had some good times in Ghana.

Apart from the fact that he enjoys heavy rotation on urban radio, he is also popular amongst the female republic. Nish Kards, the Tema-based fine chica he once dated, is aliving proof of his excesses. When they were together (or they still are?), they were really such a cool item. She liked him. He liked her.

We can't say much. They've gone their separate ways, we hear. Too bad. She definitely doesn't want any of Omo Baba's designer clothes, neither does she want to ride along in his Ferrari. She is doing fine without him, we can see. He's also gone on to some more hits. See more photos below…

Oni never won election in Ekiti – Fayose

Ayo Fayose

Ayo Fayose

Ekiti State governorship candidate, Ayo Fayose, has said former Governor Segun Oni never won any election in the state.

Fayose, who is contesting for the governorship seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, said this through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi.

He said Oni's emergence as governor in 2007 was fraudulent. He added that even Oni's appointment as the Vice-Chairman, South-West PDP was also fraudulent.

Fayose, who served as governor between 2003 and 2006, said Oni defected to the All Progressives Congress because he was used to the undemocratic style of the APC.

He said the PDP would not lose sleep over Oni's defection and maintained that he would win the June 21 elections and shame all his opponents.

He said, "Segun Oni has never won any election in his life, whether primary or general election. He believes in imposition because he is not popular.

In 2007, he came third in the PDP governorship primary but former President Olusegun Obasanjo and two other leaders in Ekiti used their might to give him the ticket.

"In that primary, Yinka Akerele came first while Prof. Segun Ojo came second. Even in 2012, during the zonal congress of the PDP in Osogbo, Osun State, he was imposed again as the national vice chairman, South-West. All other aspirants were asked to step down for him. He believes in imposition, godfathers because he cannot win on his own.

"Because he did not win the primary, but was imposed, nemesis caught up with him. That was why he was removed from office. He is not relevant in Ekiti politics."

However, Oni described Fayose's statement as unbecoming of a man he once helped to win elections.

He said, "When Fayose won in 2003, we made him win. He did not come to campaign in Ifaki, which has two wards. We did not allow him to come here to campaign. We did not accept party money. I bankrolled all that we did in Ifaki including the money we gave to party agents and we delivered the two wards.

"After I had been governor and out of office, we delivered the House of Assembly seat to the PDP. After Fayose left office, he has never won a councillorship seat in any party."

They Asked Us To Converge At The Centre Of The Village, Shouted Allahu-Akbar And Shot At Us- Boko Haram Survivors

At least 200 villagers may have died in Borno State after gunmen believed to be members of the extremist Boko Haram sect, but dressed in military uniforms attacked villages in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, government officials and eyewitnesses have said.

Premium Times gathered from reliable sources that the villages of Attagara, Agapalawa and Aganjara, all in Gwoza Local Government Area, were on Monday attacked by gunmen who pretended to be soldiers.

Commenting on the attack, the senator representing the area, Muhammed Ndume, said his constituents were under the siege of the Boko Haram insurgent group.

The residents of these communities had suffered several attacks including the shooting of nine worshippers in a church in Attagara Village during a church service last Sunday. The killing sparked off reprisal from emboldened villagers who chased the attackers and got killed four of them while three others were arrested.

On Monday, while the villagers were mourning the loss of those who died on Sunday, information dribbled around the neighbourhood that the insurgents might attack again.

The villagers said they informed the military personnel in Gwoza town but were not taken seriously, even though the soldiers promised to follow up on the report.

"When the attackers came, most residents of the community actually thought they were military personnel. It didn't occur to them they are Boko Haram. Over 200 corpses are laying in the villages now yet to be buried," said one Ngalamuda Ibrahim, a resident of Gwoza.

Another resident of Attagara whose four younger brothers were killed during the Monday carnage said "they came in military Hilux; and we all thought they were the soldiers that we earlier reported that the insurgents might attack us."

"When they came in over 10 Hilux vehicles, we all felt relieved that at last the military had arrived, so we went to them and they told us that 'we are soldiers and we are here to protect you all.'

"They then urged all of us to converge at a particular spot at the centre of the village; we all complied; but when they saw that a sizeable number of us had converged, they began to shout 'Allahu-Akbar, Allahu-Akbar' on top of their voices, then they began to fire at the people continuously for a very long time until all that gathered were all dead", said the source who is a community leader but would not say his name for fear of his personal safety.

"I lost four of my blood brothers in the massacre", the source added. "I was lucky to escape because I was not very close by when the gunmen started shooting at our people, I was going round to inform people that the soldiers had come and they wanted to address us; I managed to escape through villages in Adamawa State and later made it to Maiduguri."

"We are under siege in Gwoza", said Mr. Ndume, who is also a native of Gwoza local government.

"Over six wards of Gwoza local government have been taken over by insurgents, who also mount their flags in those areas.

"We had a meeting with the governor and the GOC (General Officer Commanding of the Nigeria Army 7 Division); and the GOC assured us that troops would be sent there immediately to go rescue the situation; the Borno state governor gave the military all the needed logistics at his disposal to assist them go rescue the villagers, especially where the insurgents were said to have hoisted flags.

"It is sad that we have to wait till now that people are being killed for government to take action. We know that for long, the road to Gwoza from Maiduguri had been a no-go area even for the soldiers.

"It is a known fact that soldiers of the Nigerian army have been overstretched in both human and material capacity; the federal government has to rise to the occasion to give these soldiers the needed support to work. Two major federal government bridges leading to Gwoza have been bombed and no one seemed concerned about this," he said.

Premium Times learnt that most of the survivors of the attacks, especially women and children, fled to the neighbouring Cameroon territories as most villages around Gwoza town had either been attacked or sacked by the Boko Haram insurgents.

The attacks on Borno communities have continued despite an emergency rule in place in the state.

Cameroon’s Military Kills 60 Boko Haram Members

Cameroon's state radio reported that the country's military has killed at least 60 Boko Haram members who crossed over from Nigeria seeking refuge.

thumb3According to the national radio, the heavily-armed militants, reportedly killed in the village of Dabanga in far Northern Cameroon, crossed over from Borno State. They were then ambushed by Cameroonian soldiers, the report said.

Fonka Awah, governor of the far north region of Cameroon, said his office had received information that some Boko Haram members might be hiding in Cameroonian villages, and asked for specialized troops to be deployed.

He told the Voice of America, VOA that the military had done a good job.

"Of course yes, without mincing words, after such a situation, you reassemble the forces and map out strategies, you galvanize them and put them back into action and I think that is what we have just done," he said.

Ebenezer Akanga, a journalist who works with Cameroon's national broadcasting station, told VOA in a telephone interview that if the military had carried out similar attacks in the past, Boko Haram would not be using Cameroon as a safe haven.

"The opinion many people have is that from the beginning, the government seemed to have been caressing the Boko Haram, the government did not seem to have been taking this fight very seriously. This is what was expected to be done from the very word 'go.' In fact, if the military had this type of reaction it would have deterred the Boko Harams from crossing to Cameroonian territory," said Akanga, adding that security forces from Cameroon and Nigeria should work together to eliminate Boko Haram from the two countries.

"The military has to adopt different strategies because it does not only suffice chasing away the Boko Haram.

"The fight needs to be taken to their backyard. Even if officially there may not be agreements authorizing the Cameroonian military to cross over into Nigerian territory, I personally think that this fight can not be won by fighting the Boko Haram only in the Cameroonian territory.

"The fight should be taken to their own camp out there in Nigeria."

Last month, Cameroon and Chad both declared war on Boko Haram. Cameroon has since deployed 2,000 troops along its border with Nigeria.

House Orders N225m Bullet-proof Cars Returned To Supplier

thumb5
The House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, yesterday, ordered the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, to return the controversial N225 million bullet-proof cars that were purchased during the tenure of former Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah, and recover the money.

Chairman of the committee, Nkiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha, said NCAA have no business keeping the cars, stressing that the contract terms between NCAA and Coscharis Motors should be cancelled and the money recovered from the supplier.

Onyejeocha made this call while on an oversight visit to the agencies at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

"What we said about the bullet proof cars is that the contract should be cancelled and that they do not have any business keeping the cars. It should be returned to the supplier and then recover our money," she said, adding that due process was not followed in the contract.

Earlier, the acting Director-General of NCAA, Engr. Benedict Adeliyela, said that the cars were parked at the NCAA's office in Abuja.

Commenting on the concession agreement entered into by Federal Aviation Agency Nigeria, FAAN, and First Bank, Onyejeocha said the concession agreement was not favourable to FAAN, noting that the bank was not supposed to be doing revenue automation at the airport.

She was reacting to the statement of the Managing Director of FAAN, Mr. Saleh Donuma, that FAAN did not have any relationship with Avitech, who is the company responsible for airport automation.

According to Donuma, First Bank was the party that partners with Avitech to be collecting money from the airport on behalf of the bank.

Onyejeocha said the house was not satisfied with the concession agreements, saying "we have a strong opinion about some concessions, especially the one with Avitech.

"They said they were not directly in contact with Avitech, that it is First Bank that they know. They know that we are not satisfied and that is why they said that the zero car park had been terminated, which means their concerns is also our concern.

"On the issue of Bi-Courtney and Meavis, I think it will be better than what we have with First Bank. That was why during the bullet-proof issue, you already access more than N600 million from First Bank because they are collecting your money. So it is wrong.

"You said it with your mouth that Avitech is a technical partner to First Bank. The bank collects revenue. Do we need a bank for automation? A bank cannot come and do automation in airport. It simply means you just exist.

"You are just sitting here and your money goes somewhere else. So I do not know how you will balance that. If we say Meavis is bad business, First Bank should be the worse. They do not have any business collecting our revenue.

"I know that you should have somebody that should be collecting revenue and paying to the bank and that person is answerable to you since you do not have direct relationship with Avitech. It means that something is wrong because you said you do not have a relationship with Avitech that you only have relationship with First Bank.

"How will FAAN have a relationship with a bank apart from keeping of your money? There cannot be even proper accounting of the revenue because as they are progressing, you are retrogressing," she said.

Fayose, Fayemi disagree on murder allegation

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has accused the All Progressives Congress of plotting to implicate him in a phantom murder plot.

He alleged that the APC had last Monday met in Osogbo, Osun State, where it concluded to kill an innocent citizen and dump the corpse in the state.

Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the Director General of the Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, said the plot of the APC was to label the PDP and his candidate as being responsible for the murder.

"They deliberately wanted to kill the innocent person and clean the blood with customised vests of Ayo Fayose and dumped the vests and the weapon used a few kilometers away from the scene of the crime to justify their nefarious plans.

"The APC leaders have also concluded arrangement with some already compromised and corrupt police officers who have agreed to collect money and help them with spurious investigations thereafter," Anisulowo alleged.

AFCO urged the security agencies and the people of the state to prevail on Governor Kayode Fayemi and the APC to stop the alleged "plans."

"The PDP and its candidate (Fayose) cannot and will not kill any Nigerian for the sake of looking for power. We are, therefore, not going to fold our arms and allow these propagandists to implicate us into another orgy of violence."

But the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation in a counter-allegation accused Fayose of plotting "to re-enact imprints of blood-letting and murder."

In a statement issued on Tuesday, KFCO's spokesperson, Mr. Dimeji Daniels, described the allegation against APC "as a foul cry aimed at diverting attention and shifting the blame for his planned chaos and other heinous crimes he (Fayose) planned to assign.

"Fayose plans to shift the campaign from the realm of ideas to the ring of violence, killings and murder. The PDP and its candidate have lost out in the culture of debate and the tradition of decent politics that are the hallmarks of the APC.

"Fayose has been visiting brothels across the state where he hopes to recruit the dregs of the society for his planned attacks on the people of the state," Daniels said.

Citing the killings of Bola Ige, Harry Marshal and Dokibo Amasiori, he argued that the "PDP that controls the security operatives has failed to find the killers."

Daniels, who said Fayose will be held responsible for any violence or killings that might take place in the state, recalled that Mr. Tunde Omojola and Dr. Ayo Daramola, were murdered.
