The multitalented creative artiste has also, made great impact
in the country as an Advertising (APCON), Marketing
(NIMN) and Public Relations (NIPR) practitioner.
The Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, born Foreign Languages and
Literatures graduate of the University of Port-Harcourt, is the
author and voice behind the famous MTN Classic tune
"Y'hello, Yello Christmas'.
In this interview, lolo who is dubbed the 'Hostess with the
mostest', and one of the few ladies running the circuit on the
Nigerian underground/live music scene, has more about her
job and experience. Read on
Bogobiri experience?
The Bogobiri Open Mic Night is best described as an
underground, art-movement. It's a great hub for creative
artists (amateurs and professionals), talented people and
enthusiasts alike. We all get together weekly to sing live
music with a band accompaniment, perform poetry or spoken
word as now commonly referred and network in general. The
rules are: 'there are no rules'. As long as its fun and also
promotes peace and harmony.
Well, for one we're live performers so you get to interact with
us firsthand, plus every now and then we have percussionists
and basic African instruments so you experience the beat of
the African live drums. Also, the Bogobiri ambiance, lodging,
food and decor remain an amazing experience to first-timers
and regulars. There are also talks of expansion across several
cities and countries in future by the Management. Personally,
I can't wait, because I think it's about time the world had a
taste of the Bogobiri Culture.
What kind of artiste do you feature?
The list of artistes is endless and as for the kind, just last
week we featured Ajebutter 22 and Poe. We usually have an
influx of mainstream artists every now and then, from the
likes of Asa to Keziah Jones, Jeffery Daniels, Paul Play,
Durella, Bez, Moses (Idols Nigeria), Praiz, AYO (Project
Fame), Timi Dakolo, Eric Arubayi, Ochuko (Project Fame),
Victoria Kimani, Kenneth Okolie, Gideon Okeke, Nneka,
Capital F.E.M.I, alongside veterans like Jimi Solanke, Duro
Ikujenyo etc
Other involvement?
As a performing act, I perform at corporate and private
functions as lead singer of a live group called 'Lolo & the
Bogo Band'. I also host shows and events with some
interesting content in the pipeline for the internet and
television.
In 2013,1 literally exercised my rights as a free-moral agent,
having ended an 8-year long stint with a reputable telecoms
firm here in Nigeria. Now, when I'm not recording in the
studio, performing at live events or hosting Open Mic at the
Bogobiri House, I run a busy schedule managing my private
practice as an Advertising, PR & Marketing Consultant with
my firm, Lodein Entertainment Ltd.
Expectations this year?
2014 already has me veering off into Artist & Repertoire
(A&R) and Film-making with my first movie in tow titled
'Guyn Man'. The film will be starring: Okey Uzoeshi,
Yvonne Okoro, Bryan Okwara, Bimbo Akintola, Blossom
Chukwujekwu, Omoye 'Brownie' Uzamere, Fred Amata,
Ijeoma Aniebo and Adesua Etomi to mention a few.
When did you begin your music career?
More like music is in me (laughter)… I've always been into
music and we're practically inseparable. Iam glad though that
I've found my niche as a live performer. You don't feel the
electricity as much over my audio recordings (laughter) but
catch me live first… Aha!. I see music as not just a form of
entertainment but a tool for social reform and I try to convey
key messages via this medium. My kind of music is a very
subtle fusion of Afro Jazz vibes, Soul and up-tempo R&B.
And, I already have two new singles, "Do Am Well",
produced by Phat E, the producer of J'odie's "Kuchi Kuchi".
which is dedicated to any hard-working Nigerian and African
out there and "Please Don't Make It Hurt", produced by P-
Loops. Both singles are slated for the original soundtrack of
'Guyn Man'.
Your interest in other genres?
I'm more interested in filmmaking, acting and writing at the
moment. I hope to have at least a feature film and a short out
within the year, the book might be a tall order in 2014 but
we'll see how it goes.

1. Manly manners
I'm sure lots of women will agree that manly manners are
lacking in modern men. When a true gentleman meets your
parents, you don't worry about what he will do or say. He is
never inappropriate, and he will do traditional things such as
pulling out the chair for you or holding open doors. A true
gentleman will treat her woman like she deserves to be
treated.
2. Patience
Patience is one of the rarest qualities of a true gentleman.
Sometimes men, without realizing it, push women to be
physical. Maybe it's not a terrible thing for you, but it can
make a woman uncomfortable, especially if she is not ready to
move forward in a relationship. If your man is a true
gentleman, he will understand your desire to wait, and he will
support whatever decision you take.
3. Calmness
Everybody is allowed to become angry, however, a true
gentleman keeps calm and collected in any situation. He
always knows how to cope with his temper and he doesn't
allow his frustration to alter his personality. Moreover, he will
never vent his anger on you.
4. He never uses swear words
A true gentleman acts a bit differently than a prince in Disney
movies does. Sure, he is not going to go around dancing and
singing to declare his love for you. Your relationship's going
to be real and cursing can happen sometimes. But there's a
huge difference between cursing in anger or excitement and
curses which are aimed at you. A true gentleman will never
use swear words, which will be aimed at you.
5. He never makes you feel uncomfortable
A real gentleman will never tell inappropriate jokes and he
will never push you to discuss a subject that you don't want
to talk about. He will never make anything that would make
you feel bad and uncomfortable. When you are around a true
gentleman, you are absolutely at ease.
6. Little sweetness
'Thank you' and 'please' are small words with a great impact.
It is very important for a person to show appreciation. Even
the smallest comment can make someone's day. After all,
don't you like when your hairstyle is complimented? You
want your man to smile at passersby and to be polite to sellers
and waiters. He will be a true gentleman they wish they knew,
and you are lucky enough to be a woman he loves.
7. Strong morals
A true gentleman will never take advantage of a woman. He
will never steal and drink and drive. He will never do
anything that he thinks is wrong or bad. He possesses strong
morals, and he knows which things are good.
I believe that true gentlemen do exist. You should also believe
that some day you will meet one of them. Stop thinking that
there are only bad guys. What other qualities do you believe

1. You are not of great importance for him

one hour without their sweetheart. People usually experience
the ultimate happiness at the beginning of their relationship.
But at the very moment you don't have that feeling any more
you should think what is going wrong.
4. His quirks make you nervous
Another way to find out if the new boy is a wrong person for
you is your reaction to his quirks. If you become angry and
nervous easily every time when his behavior is weird, surely
he is not your man. Your boy's actions can only drive you
mad and you feel that your love isn't so powerful as it was
before. In case you are lucky so much and really you managed
to find your true love, the boy's jokes and strange behavior
will never make you crazy. Just smile and cheer will appear

1. You are so beautiful
Certainly, we women are melting when men tell us
compliments. But there are some guys who can do that
perfectly, while others find it really difficult. I met different
boys in my life. Though, only one of them could make me
happy with his pleasant words. It's so important for girls to

esteem increases greatly. Sometimes you can be extremely
disappointed as you tried hard to do an excellent make-up for
some special occasion and nobody appreciated your great

2. They miss you
I'm sure that if a boy really loves a girl he will always tell her

guy-friends, don't expect that your man won't be jealous.
Certainly, he will. Just he is strong enough not to show you
all his worries. Besides, when your boyfriend feels jealous
about you that means he has some doubts concerning your
love. You should remember that there are two types of boys:
those who can be mad because of their jealousy and those
who will never express their real feelings. Perhaps you think
your man doesn't love you enough as every time when you

objects. Don't jump to conclusions, maybe your boy find it
difficult to speak about that subject with you. Be sure, he is
always jealous even without any good reasons.
5. Boy's nights out are not always great entertainment for
them
Whenever our men go out to see their friends and spend a
night with them at a club or some bar, we become crazy and
jealous. Usually, girls imagine that lots of women will be
around their guy and speak all night and flirt with him.
Actually, this is wrong opinion. In most cases, men go out for
boy's night for relaxing and chatting with the mates. For
instance, when my boyfriend comes back after such meetings,
he says that he was bad without me and it would be better for
him to spend the night out with me in some cozy restaurant.
That's why you should not angry at your sweetheart when he
wants to have some night out with his friends.
6. Concern about the right choice in their life
Definitely, all people think about their achievements and
success they've reached at some certain age. When we
become mature, we begin to analyze what was right and what
was wrong and what could be changed. Our dear men are the
same. Their worries and aims are not different from ours, they
only don't speak often about them or don't speak at all. It
happens so that sometimes men need more time to understand
what they want in their life and make right choice. It is
necessary for men and women to figure out their life path and
follow it until they are 30 years old.
7. You are too emotional when you have PMT
If you have a caring and loving man in your life, he will
always understand that involving you in some meaningful
conversation during your PMT is not a good idea. It's not a
secret for you how nervous, irritable and scary you can be
these days. But your ideal man will never tell you that. He
will try hard to keep calm and reserved even at such terrible
moments when you can cry and shout at him without any
reason. We should be proud of our patient men as that is
really hard work to cope with our monthly moods.

This week, Nollywood filmmaker, Kabat Esosa
accused the AGN of not prioritizing 'their function
and functionality and address issues that affect their
immediate constituent', the actors.
'One question I think begs an answer from them is;
what was the reason and value of the Presidential
visit? How have their visit added anything to the
hue and cry in the country in respect of security,
unemployment etc.', Esosa wrote in a statement.
But Arinze has replied Esosa explaining that is
'unfair for anyone to criticise AGN for paying a
courtesy visit to President Goodluck Jonathan'.
We are an Association in Nollywood and our visit
was to discuss issues as it affects our Guild and the
industry in general. Everybody transported
themselves to and fro.
'We didn't go begging for alms. Pls do read Madam
President Ibinabo Fiberisma's speech which has
been sent by mail to you. Kabat's statement was
totally uncalled for. We are very apolitical. We have
a right to visit GEJ after all he's the president of the
federal Republic of Nigeria', Segun Arinze
explained.
Arinze also had a direct question for Esosa, 'Chyke
Bryan who is the president of screen writers guild is
down with kidney problem. What have the members
of that guild of whom Kabat is also a member done
to raise money for his treatment? They should stop
poking their noses in other people's business'.
Last weekend, a handful of Nollywood actors,
producers and directors paid Goodluck Jonathan a
visit at the State House, Abuja where he was made
a Grand Patron of the guild.

Do you from time to time, think about your ex and get lost
in the happy times you had. Does thinking about your ex
still stir emotion in you like anger, a vow for revenge or
emotional bout of tears? Are you talking raving mad about
your ex to your friends even now
Where does that leave you, simply saying that your ex is
still holding a dear place in your heart and mind? We would
say if he or she has moved on, you are silly sitting around
thinking of them. Not that we don't understand break ups
can be tough but you have to get over it sometime, why not
now. Most of the times, a person does not give getting over
their ex a conscious shove hence, they still string along
with emotion from break up.
How can you get over your ex? Do you still have his/her
phone number, email address, address, letters, emails? Do
not hang on to all this, they are just tagging on your heart
strings. Delete or lose them intentionally or you will always
feel like clinging on.
You may cherish good times together but make a point to
not think about it every day. If it crops up in your mind, let
it run its course. Make an effort to socialize, do not jump in
to another relationship but give yourself time, make friends
and do not tell them of the disappointment or the issue will
exist in conversation even there.
When we say time heals a break up, we mean it. A sudden
relationship will only act like a transactional relationship.
Hence stay friends and when you feel you have
overpowering emotions for another, get in to a relationship.
With old friends, stop the discussion of the topic. It's tough
but you might as well do it. Have fun, do spontaneous trips,
get a new look and change a few things.

send you swirling back in to the pool of requited love?
Make sure you give yourself enough time and space before
you go any near. Though when we say this, do not prepare
for the day, instead let life take its course.
If you feel you have emotional baggage from the
relationship, find means to give it up, get counseled or try
mediation. For some people these means work. Lastly if are
tired of the nagging feeling of one sided love, make a
conscious effort and you will get over it, give it time.
