My Vote is for Femi Hamzat in Lagos

It is no secret that KOH is popular and currently rating high.
He has emerged as one of the most searched Nigerian
politician on the internet during September to February 2014.

He is now the most followed politician in the SouthWest
trending on facebook, twitter, instagram and other
microblogging websites, far ahead most of his closest rivals.
KOH's popularity on social media and his ubiquitous
engagement with his fans is an indication of his increasing
adoration for Lagos state premier position ahead of the 2015
gubernatorial elections.

It is no secret that APC has the strongest presence in the
south-west and for the party to sustain its geo-political lead in
d country, the party should consistently feature candidates
who will continue to bring about real change and build on the
awe-inspiring legacy of former predecessors who have laid the
blueprint for the prevailing development.

As a politically neutral person, I strongly share his political
views and perspectives on so many fronts and I continue to be
wowed by his forward thinking initiatives and progressive
policies.

As a Nigerian, I am proud to call him my kinsman. And As a
black man, I couldn't be more pleased with the way he has
represented black men while He was in the United States with
his ceaseless demonstration of dignity, superior intellect and
unparalleled achievement.

As Lagos state gets larger, especially with population, it
confronts the myriads of challenges common to most
megacities in the developing world. Enormous strains on the
environment caused by the huge increase in the number of
automobiles, air pollution, improved traffic management, land
use appropriation and shortages of water and energy and
uniquely exceptional to Lagos is its increasing vulnerability to
rising sea levels and river flooding.

Therefore, to make progress and to keep getting things done,
the 2015 gubernatorial election must take nothing short of an
expert to the Alausa seat of power in Lagos state. An efficient
technocrat, whose knowledge and experience in both the
private and public sector, would be brought to bear in
providing the state with models and strategies which are
adequately required to perform efficiently.

This second largest African city would need an executive head
of state whose expertise and skills would be channelled to
addressing the burgeoning social and demographic
development confronting the city, whilst ensuring its
continued participation in the rising global economic
integration that Nigeria and Africa desperately needs. In all of
this ambition, we should as well be able to compete in the
global economy and lift most of our 79% destitute youths out
of the doldrums of massive unemployment and offensive
poverty.

In this modern time, It is equally imperative that Lagos have
City businesses that will be able to compete for investment
and export markets in the global marketplace, for this, we
need policies and enabling environment that will support
transition from low wage labor towards technology and
knowledge-based systems of production and services.

I had recently returned from a trip to Lagos, and as I move
around the city, I was impassionately wowed by the major
development gains springing up everywhere I go, and high on
my bewilderment were the thousands of impressive
infrastructural road projects that had largely added to the
pride and glory of the city. the construction of massive rail
road network projects, the Implementation of two of the Rail
lines namely; Red Line to run from Agbado to Marina and
Blue Line to run from Okokomaiko to Marina, the
installations of over five hundred functional Traffic Signal
Light I would add that Unless once chooses to be a sadist and
a dunce partisan who lacked sound judgement and is largely
infected by resentful base motive, you would reckon that what
is on ground today in Lagos is a radical shift in the positive
direction from what used to be four or five years ago.

Nigerian dream leaders will not be angels, They will be men
like us. Therefore, wherever we see good governance, please
even if it is not eldorado yet, lets applaud it.

I recognize that the Governing party had made more than one
controversial decision and rocked the boat throughout their
tenure in recent times. Sure, they had committed their share of
blunders and tripped over their own words from time to time.
But, there isn't a politician either in history or in modern times
who didn't flub up big time at some point during their
administration. While we acknowledge that mistakes had been
made in recent years, I stand firm in my conviction that the
current regime in Lagos state and its accolades are the best
nation builders Nigeria had ever seen. I believe history will
prove this, and with time, they will be remembered in the
annals of time as a revered revolutionary.

Here are 6 reasons why I am for the emergence of Kadiri
Obafemi Hamzat and why you should be too:

1. He is a people Politician. Those who know him can attest
to the fact that He listens to people's complaints, responds to
their plights and go extra mile to ensure their voices are heard
even when the buck does not stop on his table, In his personal
dealings with the masses, he cares about what is best for the
greater good. He truly does represent The People. His actions
have always been motivated by a sincere desire to do what is
best for the majority, even if it meant losing ground with the
influential or powerful minority.

2. He is for all religion. Inspite of being a muslim and having
a christain wife, He accommodates everyone regardless of
their faith, creed or belief system. He is a strong advocate of
religious pluralism. He encourages appreciation of religion in
its many forms. He does not believe his own faith is exclusive
or superior to any other. And Whilst He strongly condemns
religious extremism, He appals all forms of radicalism
triggered by fanaticism, while advocating that all religion
must be in harmonious relationship with democracy.

3. He believes in multiculturalism and ethnic diversity.
Having spent the better part of his life in the most ethnically
diverse country in the world, He is fully at home with the
heterogeneous state and the ethnic diversity of Lagos. He
recognises and accommodates the cultural diversity and the
various ethnic representations across the state and would
support policies that promote peaceful co-existence amongst
various ethnic groups.

4. He supports quality and affordable healthcare system for all
and sundry. He believes a suffering child should never be
turned away because his or her parent cannot afford medical
bill . He also believes denying medical assistance to people
who desperately need it is barbaric. Therefore, he will pursue
initiatives and policies aimed at demonstrating care and
compassion towards Lagosians who cannot afford decent
health care.

5. He is pro-trading and pro-artisans. A strong believer in
youths and women empowerment through skills acquisitions
and capacity building programmes. He recently expressed
dismay at how 700 welders could not be enlisted in Lagos
state to work on a massive infrastructural road project.
Making contractors weigh the possibility of recruiting migrant
workers from neighbouring countries to do the job. Following
this, KOH insisted that we mobilize, train and recruit our own
indigenous people to meet the demands of the job. And on
numerous occassions, He had publicly expressed his support
for youths to build capacity and acquire practical skill sets
needed for community development and nation building. His
desire is to open up massive opportunities for youth to acquire
relevant skills that support decent work, help preserve
employment and prioritize job growth.

6. He is down to earth. KOH is widely known to be
straightforward and simple, always making his messages easy
to comprehend and follow. He is ubiquitous on social media
sharing his principles of life philosophy with everyone. And
Whilst actively engaging every tom, dick and harry, he
responds to all inbox messages, gives feedbacks to whomever
deserves it and promptly addresses urgent needs for concern.
No wonder his pseudo-name KOH aptly describes the virtues
of Kindness, Obedience and Humility which surpasses the
traditional idiosyncrasies of arrogance, pride and aggression
exclusive to most Nigerian politicians.

While enemies of democracy and antagonist of good
governance may contentiously draw issues with the question
of his father's identity and the legitimacy of his candidacy.
We challenge them to invalidate his Mother's Epe originality
and KOH's constitutional right to build on maternal
relationship to assert the legitimacy of his candidacy. We will
keep standing tall against all weak-minded allegations and
meaningless statements spewed by irrational minds in a bid to
rob Africa's largest democracy its right to taking its citizens to
greater heights.
