See Nu*de Women Read Novels To Listeners

Naked Girls Reading class involves a group of beautiful nude
women reading aloud various books, poems and novels to
listeners who pay a small fee for it.

Naked Girls Reading was founded in Chicago by burlesque
artist Michelle L'amour and her partner Franky Vivid. After
starting out there, Naked Girls Reading franchises have made
their way around the world.

The audience is made up of couples, groups of friends and a
few people who come by themselves and for a small fee, the
listeners get to relax, absorb the story and even join in with
discussions mid-reading but they're not required to join in and
remove their clothes.

Head Naked Girl Sophia St. Villier, who has been running the
London branch since its inception in March 2011 said, "It's
great because this show pushes and inspires me to read some
incredible literature - it's so easy to just read articles online or
trashy magazines. 'I love that we read proper books. Naked
Girls Reading is an electronic reader-free zone. 'The show is
around 2.5 hours long with two 10-minute breaks. People
normally sip a glass of wine or a cocktail while they listen to
the readings. I have a decadent show planned for the future
where wine, chocolate and cognac is matched to stories.

"We have audience members that come to each show - they
must love the literature, as they've already seen us naked!
With burlesque shows, the audience is roughly 70 per cent
women, 30 per cent men. For Naked Girls Reading, it's
around 50 per cent women and 50 per cent men."

How would you love having someone read to you naked?

The commander commended the courts in Yola for their
demonstration of professionalism in the acceleration and
prosecution of drug suspects.

He mentioned shortage of personnel and patrol vehicles as the
major challenges facing the agency in Adamawa.

Charles Novia talks about the dangers of brand endorsements in Nigeria

Filmmaker Charles Novia says there has to be a
certain degree of brand harmony in other to curb
this growing menace that is evidently dangerous
for an industry that's only at its infancy
Nollywood producer/director, Charles Novia has
raised cogent concerns about the negative impact/
effect brand endorsements will possibly have in the
Nigerian entertainment industry.

The movie maker, who is also a writer voiced his
concerns over situations where a particular artiste
that had been signed by a brand would not be able
to perform in another show/concert where a rival
brand is a major or even support sponsor.

He also pointed out the fact that future awards
ceremony might suffer a large intentional absence of
top stars, especially where the award is being
sponsored by brand A, and a chunk of the
nominated acts are signed to brand B'.

Novia says there has to be a certain level/degree of
brand harmony in other to curb this growing menace
that is evidently dangerous for an industry that's
only at its infancy.

Below are excerpts from the article titled The
Politics of Celebrity Endorsements published on his
blog:

'However, a glaring reality is coming to the fore and
many may laugh it off right now but it is staring at
us in the face. In 2013, many of the live events and
sponsored concerts were tepid in performance value.

Many of the top acts had been signed by one
telecom brand or the other and since the headliners
in the music industry have divided their brand
endorsements among various telcos, many could not
perform for friends or business concerns where a
competing telco or brand was a major or support
sponsor. This was basically because of watertight
caveats in the artiste's contracts which forbids them
from attending such shows. Thus, most of the live
concerts in 2014 in Nigeria were either lacking in
major star power or just repetitive in talents signed
on by the brands. And the performance value of
such events was basically average. Many of the
brands which had campus shows suffered this fate'.

'The example above is one of many others which
are a usual occurrence. My gut feeling is this; the
business will grow for the brands but the whole
performance and event industry may very well
suffer for this. For example, if a movie awards event
had MTN as the major sponsor and 50% of the
nominees are Glo Ambassadors, only an idiot would
need explanations on why half the nominees would
not be present at the awards even if they eventually
won. Same goes for music awards events. This
cycle is becoming predictable. And the performance
value suffers for it'.

“Nollywood is in a disgracefully sickening state” – Clarion Chukwura

Veteran actress and mother of star director Clarence Peters
spoke about her disappointment with how the movie industry
is today: "It hasn't improved at all.
It is now a proverbial ' state' that makes one to weep.
Everything has fallen to a disgraceful state. No standards are
left.

I was on a location in Enugu last month and the production
manager was insulting the director of photographer.
I was shocked. The producer and the director were shouting at
each other. I could not imagine it. The artistic director would
just walk away and actors are not directed on what to do.

Any green horn could hit the set and believe that she could sleep her way to the top. She is pretty and sleeps with the Executive Producer. It's just sickening.

How Long is Too Long to be Just Dating?

Many women have asked me how long is too long to be dating or when they should expect to see their relationship take a step to the next level. Decisions like this have to be a topic of conversation in the relationship. As a man, if I'm OK with where we stand, or I don't anticipate getting engaged, we
need to have that discussion. I can't tell you exactly how
long is too long, but I can give some guidance on how to
work toward finding your individual answer.

Dating is Not Forever

There are a small percentage of people who have no interest
in marriage and will date infinitely. That's fair, and the
right thing for those people to do is to let you know up
front that this is only dating and it's not going any farther
than this. Pertaining to the rest of us, dating has an
expiration date. Dating is an opportunity for me to learn as
much as possible about my woman. It's not meant to be a
permanent place of residence in case "something better"
comes along. As a man, I have a responsibility to let my
woman know and let her family know what my intentions
are (if we are serious).

Dating has an expiration date. Dating is an opportunity for
me to learn as much as possible about my woman. It's not
meant to be a permanent place of residence in case "something better" comes along.

It's reasonable to expect that serious relationships have a
timetable to become fruitful marriages. The timetable is
different for each relationship. What we have to consider is
if a woman makes it clear she wants to be married and our
relationship has grown to that level, she deserves a man
who values her enough to marry her, or appreciates her
enough to let her go find someone that will. If we are truly
selfless, we will think of her needs and desires above ours
and either give her what she expects and deserves or allow
her to be free to get those needs met elsewhere. Dating is a
means to an end, not a synonym for an indentured servant
or concubine. If she wants to get married, make it happen
or keep it moving.

What is Your Timetable?

I know a couple who dated for 10 years, had children and
never got married. I also know a couple, who dated 14
years, has 2 children and did not marry. The woman in each
relationship wanted to be married. The man in each
relationship might have gotten married—but they didn't
have anything to show them they needed to be married.

They lived as though they were married, so there was
nothing to make either man interested in changing his
circumstances. They looked at marriage as a detriment to
their lives, not an asset.

Our time is finite, so we need to respect our own time and
desires as such. If you set a parameter to see progress in the
relationship, stick to it.

It's imperative, whether man or woman, to have parameters
around what you are willing to give as far as time to a
relationship with no direction. Once you have made a
decision on what you want and you have a conversation
around where the relationship is headed, you have to be
willing to move forward in or out of that relationship. Our
time is finite, so we need to respect our own time and
desires as such. If you set a parameter to see progress in the
relationship, stick to it. For example, if a woman were to
say, "I expect to move forward in this relationship within
the next six months" and the couple has been dating for five
years, that's a reasonable expectation. The parameter is fair
and you are giving your mate time to make a decision. The
reality is, if they don't meet that expectation and they
haven't met it for the past five years- six months, what
would make you think they will meet it in six more
months?! It's your precious time you can't get back. Spend
it wisely.

Is five years too long? Ten years? Is nine months too long?

Some people would say you can figure out if a relationship
is going to work in six months. There's no perfect timetable
for everyone. We have to communicate where we stand in
the relationship and where we want to see it go. Watch to
see if it's moving in the direction you have planned. If
things are going as planned, you will find your timetable is
perfect for you.

7 Gay Men Arrested In Bauchi

According to a report by Channels TV, seven men appeared in
court in Bauchi on Wednesday, Jan. 22, on charges of being
involved in same-sex relationships.

The case drew thousands of protesters to the court, who
threw stones at the men as they were being transported
back to prison after the trial, as security forces fired into
the air to disperse the angry crowd.

The men were arrested by the Bauchi State Sharia
Commission for allegedly engaging in homosexual
activities, acts that contravene the Islamic laws which the
state had been operating under since 2001.

The men were named as Shehu Adamu, Yusuf Adamu,
Aliyu Dalhatu, Abdulmalik Tanko, Usman Sabo and Hazif
Sabo Abubakar and Ibrahim Marafa. Continue...

It was the first case since President Goodluck Jonathan signed
a bill that criminalises same-sex relationships, defying
Western pressure over gay rights and provoking criticism
from the United States.

The bill, which contains penalties of up to 14 years in prison
and bans gay marriage, same-sex "amorous relationships" and
membership of gay rights groups, was passed by the National
Assembly last May but Jonathan had delayed signing it into
law until early January.

At Thursday's trial, the prosecuting lawyer said the case was a
direct result of the recently-passed law.

"This is further to the law against homosexuals which was
signed by the President. It has to be implemented. People
caught breaking this law must be prosecuted accordingly,"
said Danlami Ayuba.

The trial was adjourned to January 27.

Mixed reaction trails INEC’S time-table

Former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao Akala on Saturday described the release of the 2015 election timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a welcome development.

In an interview with the News agency of Nigeria the former
governor said the early release of the timetable would allow
politicians to be well prepared.

Alao-Akala likened the development to a student who had
been given enough notice to prepare for an examination.

In a separate interview Chief Akin Oke, the Oyo state chapter
Interim Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) wodered
why there was a reverse of the schedule of elections from the
previous ones.

"My fear is that, I hope this timetable was not with ulterior
motive.

Mr Bashiru Lawal, the state Chairman of Accord Party, said
that INEC has done the right thing by releasing the schedule
of the elections very early.

Lawal, however, also objected to the order of the election,
saying that of state overnors and state assemblies elections
should have come first.

"I think the states elections should be conducted before the
national elections at this period when every party is struggling
to be at the centre," he said.

Mr Moshood Erubami, President, Nigeria Voters' Assembly,
described the release of the timetable as a good step but
expressed fear over the implementation.

Erubami listed the complaint of paucity of fund by INEC and
the proposed National Conference as factors that might affect
the time-table.

INEC had on Friday released the timetable for the 2015
general elections scheduling the Presidential and National
Assembly elections for Feb 14, 2015 while governorship and
state assembly elections are to hold on Feb 28, 2015.

It also announced the dates for governorship elections in Ekiti
and Osun states.

Too many celebs wear fake stuff’, Cool FM’s Freeze says

In a recent interview with Punch Newspapers, the
Cool FM OAP put a number of Nigerian celebrities
on blast stating that too many of them wear fake
apparels and fashion items.

'First thing first, for all the entertainers putting up
pictures of their accessories on Instagram, can they
please tweet the receipt from an authorized dealer.
Trust me; I have seen too many celebs wear fake
stuffs. You can tell that they don't know what they
are wearing', Freeze told Ademola Olonilua of The
Punch.

Freeze however credited a few 'big' names like
D'banj, Don Jazzy, Pop twins Psquare and
Wizkid claiming he'd never seen them were fake
fashion accessories.

He then went on to detail his disappointment with a
top musician who he says he had a high level of
respect for.

'But there are some other people who I have seen
wear funny looking pieces. There was one particular
musician that I saw wearing a Rolex and the gold
was fading. Rolex never uses gold plates, they use
pure gold. If you see anything gold on a Rolex, it is
pure gold. When I saw that, I was disappointed at
the musician, especially because of the level of
respect I had for the musician', Freeze revealed
Freeze also says 'there is no such thing like buying
a Rolex with a credit card'. 'You can't buy a Rolex
with a credit card; who are you? Diddy? For you to
be able to walk away with a £20,000 watch, you
would have a substantial amount of money in that
card', he explained.

Who do you think Freeze was talking about in the
interview?

Photos: Parents put teenage daughter in a cage for two and half years

Tongues have begun to wag in Bayelsa following the discovery of a 16-year-old girl, Blessing Olokumo who had
been locked up in a cage for the past 30 months by her parents over an alleged witchcraft induced illness. Saturday Sun gathered that the cage that has housed the victim for two and half years is just by the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in Okolobiri community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

She was rescued from the cage few days ago by the Mary Slessor Twins Foundation.

The group, led by its acting president, Mr Robert Ebitei
Tonye, disclosed that

preliminary investigations revealed that Blessing was
diagnosed with an illness nine years ago which triggered
convulsion.

Findings by Saturday Sun revealed that when Blessing was
taken to the hospital for medical attention nine years ago, the
parents were asked to pay N15, 000 for her treatment. It was
further learnt that the father, who said he could not afford
such medical bill, requested her to be discharged and signed a
form that he was taking her from the hospital against medical
advice.

He was said to have later taken her to different traditional homes for her illness to be cured and when no solution was forthcoming, especially when she defecates and vomits in the house, he decided to construct a cage where she was kept.

Concerned neighbours, who have watched in horror the
maltreatment Blessing was subjected to, alerted the group
known for its campaign against maltreatment of twins in the
state.

The first day the group went to the house to rescue her, Tonye
said some strange occurrences and the blunt refusal of the
father to hand her over, prevented the group from rescuing
her. But on its second mission, they succeeded and
immediately took her to the Okolobiri hospital.

While lamenting the condition of the teenager, Tonye said:

"She was kept like a rabbit. She was given food when it was available and was allowed to sleep in her vomit, feces and urine. She lost weight and could have died".

At the Okolobiri hospital where she is kept, many who visited
her described her parents' action as wicked and callous.

Speaking further on the incident, Tonye said: "The father told
us that the girl has been sick for 13 years and since she
refused to die, she was locked up.

We rescued her and took her to the hospital.

Our pre-occupation is to stabilize her condition before we ensure we press charges against the parents"

Scared that he could be arrested, Saturday Sun gathered that
Olokumo has already gone underground. The mother, Mrs
Olokumo, who now stays with her at the hospital, lamented
that they have spent all their money to get solution to her
problem.

According to her, since they could not get money to get her
proper medical attention, they decided to give up and she
allowed the father to handle it.

Dr Oyedeji Adeyemi of the NDUTH, who is attending to her,
explained that her case is that of seizure disorder which was
not properly treated.

"The case is principally a case of a child having a seizure
disorder in what some people would call epilepsy which in
technical terms is seizure disorder which was not treated
appropriately.

Rather thangive her medical attention, she was kept out of the
house, sort of restricted environment and barely fed which
had over time led to malnutrition", Adeyemi stated.
Some civil society groups have already concluded plans to give all the necessary support to the Mary Slessor Twins Foundation to see that Blessing's parents do not go free for the act of inhumanity to their own child.

“She is My Pillar & Strength” - Top Music Producer, Cobhams Asuquo Praises His Wife

Nigerian top music producer and singer, Cobhmas Asuquo in
a recent interview talks about his wife, Ojuola Olukanni, how
she has been his pillar and strength.

Read Excerpts below

On Ojuola: "My wife is a pillar. In a lot of ways, she is my
strength. She is a very strong and wise woman. She is from an
amazing family; she is an absolutely supportive person. She
and I have been friends for many years, without knowing that
that friendship would lead to marriage. Apart from taking care
of the home front, she has contributed to the success of my
career. She is a passionate person who knows how to drive me
to success. I feel so fortunate, so lucky to have someone like
her as my companion."

On when he'll have a second child: "When you talk about
children, nobody goes around to announce when he is going
to have his next child. You don't live life under that kind of
pressure. I think, for me, the most important thing is that I am
living a good life, and at least, as a starter, I even have a
child. You know what that means. There are many people
looking for children, and God gives to them at His appointed
time. I believe there is abundance of children in heaven, but
God gives them out at His appointed time. So, whatever
anyone sees now, let them just take it. I think God is
answering the prayers of our heart, whether we have a second
child or not."

On how he recognizes his son: "Of course, you would know.
I don't think you need to be a scientist before you know.

Although, I won't bring science into it, because I may not
have facts to support anything that I say in that direction. You
will definitely feel it, whether you see or not. I don't really
know how to explain it, but you would know. I don't think
everything about life could be explained, some things are just
what they are. They are mysteries of life. As far as I am
concerned, I know when my child comes around, and I don't
think that's difficult for me."

Tips To Handle Your Wife’s Miscarriage

One of the most unfortunate things that can happen to an expecting couple is a miscarriage. The worst part is that though there is often a strong underlying cause, it can also be spontaneous, without a clearly explainable reason. It is certainly very hard for the woman to cope with the loss, but it cannot be forgotten that it is an equally stressful time for the man as well. But in most cases the husband has to bury his pain as he is looked at for support and comfort by the wife.
If you have been through or are going through such silent
suffering, be assured that there are ways to deal with it.
Read on to know some effective ones.

Express your grief
Your partner and you have been excited about the
pregnancy. There has been a lot of reading, deciding on
baby names, checking out baby strollers, painting the spare
room that has been going on for weeks. When all the
excitement suddenly seizes to exist, it is evident that there
will be a sense of loss. Most of the times, men get so busy
tending to their wives' emotional needs that they forget
about their own emotions. It must be understood that there
is no other way to cope but to grieve. Anger, denial, and
feeling low and frustrated are normal. Give yourself some
time to calm down, but make sure to express and vent out
emotions. Piling up feelings inside can be emotionally very
toxic.

Do not let guilt or regret take over
There might be days when your wife is going through
extreme phases of depression. If you are experiencing the
same emotions, do not feel guilty about it. You are not
being selfish if your attention shifts to your own pain for a
while. There would even be days when you would regret
sharing the news of the pregnancy with your friends and
family, and might wonder if you were a little "too excited".
But remember that it is normal to feel excited on the news
of impending parenthood. You expressed your emotions
very naturally then, so feel okay about expressing your
emotions even now. Your loved ones will the firsts to
comprehend your pain.

Do not blame anybody
Hard times can create turmoil in any relationship.
Especially when the trauma is due to unexplained reasons,
you can end up blaming yourself or your wife for the
situation. "If only I were there…," "If only you were
careful enough…" and other such statements can become
the common reason for increasing disruption in the
household. You need to realise that what has happened has
already happened, and you need to look forward to the next
day if you wish to move any ahead. Talking to each other
or at times being a quiet listener can soothe the negative
thoughts.

Talk your heart out
Most men are known to keep their emotions to themselves.
Unlike women, men do not call up friends to share if
something is bothering them. But this time, try to call up
your 2 a.m. friend and speak your heart out. It can be
anyone- a brother or sister, a cousin, an uncle or anyone
you feel comfortable talking to. The best choice would be
expressing yourself to your wife. However, she might not
be in a state of mind to listen and understand at this point of
time.

Get busy as soon as possible
It is true that you must tend to your grief and give yourself
time to get over the extreme pain. But this can set a vicious
cycle of feeling low and sulking in the house. You can
break this only by stepping out to carry out your routine
activities. Start slowly and don't over exert yourself.
Getting back to work will take your attention off the pain.
Interaction with your colleagues, planning the daily tasks
and other such activities will distract you and eventually
make you feel better than before.

Try for another child without any stress
People around you would suggest having another child to
make things better. Although that is the best solution, you
need to be careful when taking this decision. After deciding
that you both are mentally completely ready, discuss with
your doctor about the risks in another pregnancy or the
special care to be taken. If you feel that you or your wife is
still feeling depressed, take help of a counsellor. Being
emotionally stable, calm and positive is extremely
important for a healthy pregnancy. Having another baby
will certainly brighten your world again.

A miscarriage is a stressful ride of ups and downs for any
couple who goes through it. But being understanding
towards yourself, as much as towards your partner, goes a
long way to get things back to the normal.

APC Crisis May Escalate

There are indications that the crisis brewing within the All Progressives Congress may lead to the suspension or expulsion of several prominent members of the party who are currently perceived as working against its interest.

It was learnt that some of the prominent members including former governors may be shown the way out of the party if they continue to resist the take-over of the opposition party's structures by the G-5 governors who recently defected from the People's Democratic Party.

A reliable source within the National Secretariat of the party said on condition of anonymity said the thinking within the leadership of the party is that the G-5 governors must be allowed to take over structures of the party in the affected states to enable them provide the funds to strengthen the APC for the 2015 elections.

The G-5 governors who defected from the PDP were Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers; Murtala Nyako of Adamawa; Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano; Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara and Aliyu Wammako of Sokoto.

The source asked: " Do you think former Governors Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano, Bafarawa of Sokoto or rtd. Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa of Adamawa have the capacity to win elections in those states now? "

He continued: "We know that some of these people are PDP agents who want to sabotage APC from inside by causing all types of crisis".

When reminded that most of the defected governors would complete their second tenure by 2015 and may therefore not have much at stake during the forth-coming polls, he said : " If APC doesn't win the states where the G-5 governors are currently in power, it means they would be politically finished. So they would surely throw in their resources to ensure that APC wins in their states to enable them be in a vantage position to pursue their future political career".

"Who told you that some of them don't have presidential ambition?" he asked.

The source however expressed confidence that the crisis would be resolved just like the various opposition parties were able to overcome all their differences and merge.

Said he: " When political battles are fought, it is either you win, lose and leave or reconcile".

It would be recalled that the G-5 governors defected after reportedly reaching an agreement with the leadership of APC that the party's structures in the five states would be handed over to them.

However, since they defected they have faced stiff resistance from prominent members of the party especially former governors in their attempt to take over APC structures in the affected states.

When contacted by phone yesterday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party Alhaji Lai Mohammed dismissed certain media reports about the crisis as the handiwork of the PDP.

He admitted that the party was aware of the disagreement within some state chapters of the party but said a National Reconciliation Committee had been set up to handle the situation.

Tope Alabi finally opens up on her affair with Prophet Ajanaku

In a recent interview with PUNCH, Gospel singer Tope Alabi
opened up on her affair with the late Prophet Ajanaku and her
sweet husband. See excerpts below:

You used to do sound track of movies?

Oh yes. But I don't really do it again.
Why did you stop?

I didn't stop because it is secular. I don't always have the time
to watch the movies before I do the sound track. I just
discovered that I was being given all kinds of movies. I would
just be told the title and a little synopsis of the movie and I
would do the sound track. Then when I do the sound track, it
would be different from what the movie is talking about. I
have now told producers that I have to watch the movie before
I do the sound track. What it means is that I would be forced
to reduce the number of movies I compose the sound track.

My sound track should not be different from what I preach
for. I can't compose sound track for movies that the major
story line is on herbalists. I can't praise herbalists. I will be a
rebellious child.

Your husband has been supportive; he is even your
manager…

He is no longer my manager. I have a new manager. He is the
marketer now. He is my boyfriend and the father of my
children. He is the small boy in the house that must eat first
even if no other person has eaten.

But most men don't want their wives to be in the spotlight,
how come he supports you like this?

I just thank God for his life. You can imagine, when we go
for programmes, I would be given a seat in the front row
while my husband would be given a seat at the back. Imagine!

I would always tell him to come and sit in front so I can go to
the back but he would never agree. He would ask me if he
was Tope Alabi. God has been guiding us. How would I have
managed without a husband like this?
Where did you meet him?

I met him in the studio. He was a studio rat. He worked
anywhere in the studio. He never went out of the studio. He
was such a tiny man when we met. But see him now, I have
packaged him. He has also packaged me as well. I am more
beautiful now. We met 19 years ago. We got married five
years after.

The issue you had with the late Pastor Ajanaku, did you
ever make up before he died?

On that issue, I would rather say no comment. When God is
working in your life, anything can happen along the line. The
Israelites faced turbulence and eventually got out of it. We
need people who are spirit-filled to just fold their arms and
watch what God will do.

Some people say you are happy he is no more…

God doesn't like anybody who rejoices over a friend or
enemy's death. I cannot be an enemy of what God created. I
can only be an enemy of God's enemy. If you don't like God,
certainly, I will not like you. But I still say no comment on
that issue.

Does it mean you will not tell us what really caused the
problem between you two?

No comment. I just want people to say what they want to say.

You are free. Your heart is not in my heart. People can
speculate. People can feel whatever they want to feel.
But we learnt he anointed another singer as his spiritual
child and it got you so upset…

I wasn't there. I don't know. So if I wasn't there, how would I
now 'put mouth' in something I don't know about? I can't say
what I don't know.

But did you feel bad that they said he had replaced you,
even if you weren't there, you must have heard it?

I cannot feel bad. I didn't feel bad. I can bring somebody
today and I decide to bring that person up. Anybody is free to
do whatever he/she feels like doing.

We learnt you also stopped attending his church…

Actually, I was never a member of his church but people
don't know this. I am just a woman who loves to help
ministries. I go to the church and I give money, not small
money. I can work for six months and I take my tithe to him
just to bless his ministry. I do that in other ministries. I can
minister in churches without collecting money. I know what I
have passed through. I know where I am coming from. I want
to bless God and thank Him. The first day I ministered in his
church, he gave me money but I didn't collect it. I never
collected money from him in my life, but I have donated
millions to his church and so many other churches. I have so
many people living in my house that I don't even know their
parents; and I just help them. I pay their fees. My husband
helps the widows, we donate to orphanages. We just want to
help.

Must Read: ‘Maheeda has only seduction skills’: UK presenter, Minnie Marj speaks out

UK based actress/radio presenter, Minnie Marj, did a
review of Maheeda's "Naija bad girl" song, which has
generated a lot of controversy over the nude scenes which
she shot in her videos.

Miss Marj obviously not pleased with the video, had to
pen down a piece of her mind in the form of a review.
With Maheeda loving the controversy, we hope she reads
this one too.

Minnie Marj's review:

Yeah it is about that time where I grab my laptop in order
to do something that I am very passionate of: Writing and
sharing my point of view.

Nope, its not about a big celebrity that misbehaved in one
way or another. It is about this music video that is
currently trending. That naked Lady showcasing her
seduction skills rather than the usual dope, off the chain 16
BARS that we always expect a rapper to do, goes by the
name of Maheeda.

This video is stirring up much controversy , due to
Maheeda's naked self frolicking around for some overly-
hormonal gentlemen who seem to enjoy the spectacle. It's
a shame nobody will actually really listen to the song and
rate this artist according to her musical skills.
Aren't musicians supposed to deliver vocally or lyrically?
Lyrically speaking there are no punch lines in this session.
Sentences such as : Never find me in Okada…Me I break
a leg BUT you break nothing…If you think sey you spoil
Me I don rotten…

I'm a bad girl don't need to be told … Ema Dami Duro…
(No worries we aren't trying to stop you) And the list
goes on and on…. I actually closed my eyes because I
wanted to listen to the song and give credits where it is
due but in this case I will have to pass.

Credits will go to the Beat maker for a nice beat and the
director for a nice video. My opinion would be different if
we had a special Adult Channel where this music
video and other hardcore films would be pitched to.
This is the reality and we have none of this yet on our TV
channels based in Africa.

So what is Maheeda's market actually? Who is she
targeting with her visuals? Does she intend to always drop
her videos on Youtube? I guess this video would probably
be banned from Media houses unless they re-edit the
Clean Version because the existing Clean Version isn't
really Clean to be honest with you. I am not judging
anything here but please bear in mind that I am just
speaking from a professional point of view.

America would love and adore this video but this is Mama
Africa. Ain't Nobody got time for that?!? Well the
statistics say something else: 7K +views for the Clean
version and 50K + views for the Explicit version. What
happened to the Born Again musician??

Temptations,Temptations…. I would call this a Reverse
Reaction aka RR.

This is what happens when you slightly believe that
something will change your life because someone told or
convinced you that it will do so and NOT because you
deeply had the faith that it will BE so. It is not easy to
keep the faith especially when times are hard. You are a
true Born Again If You survive all tests God puts you
through with a bigger faith than you had before.

I don't even want to discuss about the pyramid symbol she
is dancing in.I know loads of you have concluded already
but please give her the benefit of doubt. To everybody out
there, please make sure you really become born again
because you are ready for a change and not because
someone told you that you have to change.

Cogito Ergo Sum. I'm out.

Founder, 29, sells stake in ‘Russian Facebook’

MOSCOW – The 29-year-old founder of Russia's biggest
social network website VKontakte has sold his stake in the
company in a deal believed to be worth hundreds of millions
of dollars.

Pavel Durov confirmed late Friday on the website he started
that he had sold his 12 percent stake to Ivan Tavrin, chief
executive of mobile operator Megafon.

The deal effectively gives the control of the website to the
empire of Russia's richest man Alisher Usmanov, which owns
Megafon. Usmanov already owns 40 percent of VKontakte
through his Mail.Ru congolomerate.

The remaining 48 percent is owned by investment group
United Capital Partners.

According to Vedomosti newspaper, the deal was possibly
struck in December. It also quoted a source saying it could be
based on a valuation of the company of up to four billion
dollars.

Explaining the reason for the sale, Durov wrote: "What you
own sooner or later begins owning you."

"I tried to get rid of property over the last few years… To
reach the ideal I had to get rid of the biggest part of my
property, the 12 percent stake in VKontakte," he said.

"I am happy that not so long ago I reached this goal, having
sold my stake in VKontakte to my friend Ivan Tavrin," added
the 29-year-old, who is famous for eccentric actions like
throwing fistfuls of cash out of the window of the network's
headquarters in Saint Petersburg.

Hinting at the size of the deal, VKontakte spokesman Georgy
Labushkin wrote a few hours after news broke of the sale:

"Where shall we invest $420 million?"

Durov, who is sometimes compared to Facebook founder
Mark Zuckerberg, assured in his message that the ownership
changes "will not have any effect" on VKontakte and that he
will "continue to monitor the quality" of the network.

VKontakte is Russia's most popular social network, dwarfing
even Facebook's presence in the country with its 100 million
users.(AFP)

Efforts to solve Ukraine’s deadly crisis remain futile

Kiev (AFP) – Efforts to solve Ukraine's deadly crisis peacefully without using force remain futile, Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko said Saturday, accusing protesters of hoarding firearms at their headquarters.

"The events of the last days in the Ukrainian capital have
shown that our attempts to solve the conflict peacefully,
without recourse to a confrontation of force, remain futile,"
he said in a statement. "Our calls have not been heeded and
a truce is being violated."

Accusing the mainstream opposition of failing to control
radicals, Zakharchenko said the authorities now had
information that the protesters were "hoarding firearms" at
their headquarters in central Kiev.

‘Fatherhood has changed me a lot’, Cobhams Asuquo

Award winning producer and CEO of Cobhams
Asuquo says fatherhood has changed so many things
about him.

The prolific visually-impaired musician who turned
33 recently told Encomium Weekly, 'A lot of things
have changed about me. I am now a better teacher,
because I have realized that you train your child at
an early age, because you need to communicate with
your child at that age'.

'I have also learnt to become a better helper,
because the responsibility of raising a child is not
just the mother alone. It's both the mother and the
father and I have learnt that'.

'My wife is a pillar. In a lot of ways. She is my
strength. She is a very strong and wise woman', he
added.

Cobhams Asuquo got married to Odunola in

3 Feared Dead, 7 Rescued As Boat Capsizes

Three persons were feared dead after the motor boat on
which they were riding from Tincan Island Port to Ojo area of
Lagos capsized Thursday at about 8.30 pm while returning
from work.

A passenger who identified himself as Peter, told Saturday
Vanguard that the incident occurred when the operator of the
boat tried to maneuver his boat from another oncoming boat
but eventually lost control. Peter who claimed to be in another
boat when the incident happened, explained that they had to
go and assist the 10 passengers in the small boat.

According to him, they were only able to rescue seven of the
passengers while they could not see the other three. As at
yesterday morning when Saturday Vanguard visited the area,
the boat operators refused to comment on the issue but
confirmed that the incident actually occurred.

One of the operators said they were expecting the corpses of
the passengers to come afloat yesterday.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Managing Director of the
Lagos State Water Transport Authority, LASTWA, Yinka
Morinho, on the issue proved abortive as he did not pick his
call or respond to text message sent to him.

Boat rides between Apapa and Ojo axes have improved
among people living around Ojo area but work at Apapa.

A freight forwarder, Okey Ibeawuchi, who spoke with
Saturday Vanguard on the issue said he has not seen Mile2 for
about two months because he prefers to go by boat as it saves
his time. According to Ibeawuchi, at the height of the traffic
jam on that route, he spent between five and six hours to and
from work every day and that was not good for his health.

He noted that although he knows the risk involved in traveling
by boat, he still preferred it as the journey by boat takes
between 20 and 45 minutes depending on the boat by which
one is traveling. The freight forwarder explained that while
the boat with 150 horse power takes between 15 and 25
minutes, the 75 horse power boat takes between 35 to 45
minutes.

While he acknowledged that passengers are mandated to wear
live jackets as security measure , he said it is not enough as
the boats do not have cover. He called on the Lagos state
government to come to the aid of the operators by providing
them soft loan with which to acquire better boats to ply the
route.

President Jonathan Stops SSS From Quizzing Obasanjo

The Presidency may have put on hold its earlier directive to the State Security Service to investigate the weighty allegations contained in the controversial letter written by former president Olusegun Obasanjo to President Goodluck Jonathan in December last year.

It was learnt that the Presidency decided to halt the investigation of the issues raised in the former president's letter in order to amicably settle the rift between President Jonathan and his political benefactor.

It was learnt that notable political leaders in the country were already engrossed in moves to bring the President and Obasanjo together.

It was further gathered that security operatives were directed to stop the investigation as a result of the ongoing efforts in high political circles to broker a truce between the two political figures.

A source close to the Presidency, who craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on behalf of the President, told one of our correspondents in Abuja on Thursday that the President was more interested in settling his differences with Obasanjo than carrying out the investigation that could deepen the crisis.

"The President was the one that gave the directive but I think another counter directive is in force now; they might not go into investigating all those things in the letter. I think they are making efforts to settle this matter.

"Political elders are intervening in it so the President asked them to stay action on it; so, for now there is nothing on it.

"There is the need to take a look at the political implication of the course of action. Besides, the President believes that his differences with Obasanjo are not irreconcilable," the source said.

Security operatives had earlier contacted the former president over the controversial letter two weeks ago in response to an earlier directive by President Goodluck Jonathan.

A security source told one of our correspondents that the SSS wrote Obasanjo following a presidential directive to security operatives to investigate the grave issues raised by the former president in his letter to the President late last year.

It was learnt that the SSS wrote to notify Obasanjo of the impending investigation.

Obasanjo had in an 18-page letter to the President, accused him, among other things, of not honouring his words that he would not run in 2015, and taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.

In the letter dated December 2, 2013 and titled, "Before it is too late", Obasanjo accused the President of pursuing "selfish personal and political interests" based on advice from his "self-centred aides."

He also alleged that the President had failed to deliver on his promises to Nigerians and to curb insurgency and corruption in the country.

Obasanjo also alleged that the President had put 1,000 politicians on a watch list and was training snipers.

"Nigeria is bleeding and the haemorrhage must be stopped," an obviously angry Obasanjo had lamented. He went ahead to declare that "Jonathan had betrayed God and Nigerians," who voted him into power.

In his response, Jonathan described the former president's letter as a threat to national security.

The source added that the agency wrote Obasanjo on the week he wrote the then Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, to announce his decision to withdraw from the activities of the PDP at the national and regional levels.

It was further learnt that the leadership of the SSS might decide to put the investigation on hold because of a move by the Federal Government and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to resolve the matter through peaceful means.

The source said, "Obasanjo ought to have been summoned, but we have also been instructed to put investigation on hold for a possible peaceful resolution of the issues at stake.''

However, a source close to the former president said that the SSS could not have summoned the former President even though the person was not specific in denying if a letter was written to the former President to notify him of the investigation.

The source also said that the issue of the SSS inviting Obasanjo was not likely as 'they couldn't have done so' now that efforts were being made to settle the whole problem.

The source added that Obasanjo had been out of the country since last week, noting that he was expected back into the country within the week.

When contacted on Thursday, SSS Deputy Director, Public Relations, Marilyn Ogar, pleaded for time to find out the status of the probe. "I will find out and get back to you," the SSS spokesperson said.

But attempts to get Ogar's reaction on Friday did not yield fruits as she neither pick her calls nor respond to text messages sent to her phone.

The police however claimed that they were not involved in the probe of the allegations made by former president Obasanjo.

A senior police officer confided in one of our correspondents that the police did not have record of investigation of the allegations made by Obasanjo.

The officer described the issues as political which he said would be resolved by the parties concerned. He added adding that the Force would not be involved in political issues.

"Do we have any record of such an investigation of Obasanjo's allegations? I will say we don't have such information with us. In any case, there is no way we can investigate the former president and those close to him would not know. Such an investigation cannot be hidden and the police will have to comment on it publicly if it is true, but for now, there is no information or record on any probe against Obasanjo," the source said.

In previous attempts to confirm the status of the probe with the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, he had always said he would not comment on alleged reversal of any directive that was officially issued by the President.

But the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Olisah Metuh, has said that the new National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu, is likely to meet former president Obasanjo as he commences efforts to woo aggrieved PDP members to the party next week.

Metuh said that the new chairman of the party would unveil his agenda for reconciliation in the party with effect from next week.

He said that Mu'azu placed emphasis on the issue of reconciliation when he hosted the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, in Abuja.

He said that Mu'azu's agenda for reconciliation also included how to get the former president to participate in the party's activities.

Metuh said, "The National Chairman is unveiling his agenda next week, but he has already said that the issue of reconciliation is paramount and very important.

"He stated this when he received the Governor of Jigawa State and he said categorically that he would try and bring the people that left.

"And the National Chairman has enormous, complete respect for our former President and our former Chairman, Board of Trustees, (Chief Olusegun Obasanjo) and I am sure that he would unveil his agenda and the way that he would engage him in the coming weeks.

"He is unveiling his agenda for reconciliation and everything from next week, and would include the process of engaging the former President to ensure that he remains involved in the activities of the party, but let us wait for the national chairman to unveil his agenda from next week; from next week, he would start making policy statements on it."

Festus Feyamo Alleges Plan To Kill Henry Okah In Prison

Charles Okah, one of the accused persons being tried for
the October 1, bombing in Abuja, Barrister Festus Keyamo
has alleged attempt to kill his client, following refusal by
prison officials to administer High Blood Pressure drugs on
him.

In a letter addressed to the Controller General of Nigeria
Prisons and made available to journalists in Abuja
yesterday, Keyamo accused a certain Deputy Controller of
Prisons of refusing to administer the drugs to Okah.

The letter signed by Barrister John Ainetor, Esq and Ms
Benedicta Obanye, both of Keyamo's law firm read: "It is
our brief that on 7th of January, 2014, the Kuje Prisons
Clinic issued a drug prescription for the treatment of the
High Blood Pressure ailment of our client, specifically
Amlodipine 10mg.

"On the 9th of January, 2014 when the wife, Mrs. Okah,
visited our client in Prisons, she was informed that the said
drugs have not been bought due to lack of finance, and as
such, she was requested to purchase them for our client.
Consequently, our client's wife immediately purchased the
said drugs and handed same over to the prisons officer in
charge who seized them and refused to administer same to
our client, thereby denying him medication despite his
critical health condition. The said DCP further said that his
action was based on the press release by the family of our
client on 13th of January, 2014, where they raised alarm
about his health condition and that no one can do anything
about it.

"Sir, the conduct of the prison official is very worrisome, in
addition to several other inhuman treatments meted to our
client in Kuje prisons. These calculated attempts to snuff
life out of him have repeatedly occurred, which include
intentional denial of medication, refusal to administer the
correct and appropriate drugs when prescribed by the
prisons clinic, the initial refusal to fumigate the cell and the
subsequent fumigation while our client was inside; the
discovery of a scorpion in the cell and various other life-
threatening events.

"The foregoing suggests beyond doubt that there is a plot to
kill our client in Kuje prisons. This is more so because our
client, who has only one kidney is hypertensive . It is
noteworthy that it was circumstances of this nature that led
to the death of Tiemkemfa Osovwo (alias General Gbokos)
sometime in 2012. It is likely that similar fate may befall
our client if urgent action is not taken about our complaint"

Jay Z and Beyonce Top Billboard's Power 100 List

Billboard Magazine dubs Jay Z and Beyonce the most
powerful couple in music...

From Billboard

Who in the music industry did so better in the last year
than this power couple?

Leveraging their star power to release new albums in
unprecedented ways—Jay Z through Samsung and
Beyoncé through iTunes—they instantly changed how the
industry and fans thought about interacting with music. He
gave his album away; she charged a premium price for
hers. But they both used the element of surprise to restore
the excitement that used to accompany a new release,
before that impact was dulled by the endless thunder of
carefully plotted promotion.
