dimensional quality to sexuality. I don't particularly find

Kogi State Demands N50 Million For Late Festus Iyayi’s Death, Family Disassociates Itself

Kogi State has demanded the government 'consolidate' the
late, Prof. Festus Iyayi's death with N50 Billion and the
family is having none of it.
The family of the late former President of the Academic
Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Festus Iyayi,
yesterday, disassociated themselves from the N50 billion
demand from the Kogi State government over the death of
their son, saying that no amount of money can compensate
for the loss.
The Onojie of Ugbegun, home town of late Prof Iyayi, had
demanded the sum of N50 billion as compensation for the
death of their son. However, Prof. Robert Ebewale, a
cousin to the deceased, told Newsmen yesterday that it was
embarrassing to try to equate the life of Prof Iyayi with
money, saying that the family was embarrassed with N50
billion demand.
"No amount of money can be compared with the life of that
calibre of person, so we want to disassociate our family
with that. It is embarrassing to us," he stated.

Pasuma Denies Involvement In Hit-And-Run Murder Allegation

Prominent Fuji singer Wasiu Alabi Pasuma had been the
subject of news stories that his convoy killed a young boy,
and has now come out to say he had no involvement in the
incident.
Speaking through his manager, Afolabi Oyekoya, Pasuma
said there is no truth in the allegation while condemning the
stories on the Internet that the his convoy hit a young boy.
According to the stories, one of the convoys of the fuji star
ran over a teenage fan after Pasuma's vehicle had knocked
down the victim on their way back from a show at Idimu-
Council area of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos
State.
The victim, simply known as Bidemi, a 12-year old and fan
of the singer, was said to have been lurking around to get a
glimpse of the star as he was leaving the St. Augustine
Events Hall, Isheri-Idimu, venue of the said show.
However, Oyekoya said it was saddening that some people
would peddle such 'heavy rumours' in order to drag
somebody's name to the mud."In fact, I don't even want to
talk about this. It is simply sad that one's image would be
spoilt just like this. If Pasuma had killed anybody, don't
you think he should have been in the police custody by
now? Pasuma wasn't invited by the police. Nobody arrested
him. Nobody invited him for questioning. So how would
anybody just come out and say that Pasuma killed
somebody?"
Oyekoya admitted that a young boy was killed but he
insisted that it wasn't Pasuma's vehicle that knocked him
down. Earlier on, a source who had claimed he was an
eyewitness, blamed the police for the accident.
"We went for a show at Idimu. After the show, a crowd of
area boys came to meet us and as usual, Pasuma gave them
N100, 000. Anytime he goes for shows like that, he
normally asks for the leader of the boys in the area and he
gives them N100, 000. After he gave them the money, he
drove off but there was a police patrol vehicle behind
us."Probably, when the police saw the crowd, they must
have thought something dangerous was happening. It must
have been the police's van that killed the young boy and
they even seized the corpse. The family of the boy had to
pay before the corpse was released. It has nothing to do
with Paso," the source said.

Photo: I Thought It Was Holy Water - Suspected Pipeline Vandal

Six suspected pipeline vandals were apprehended in Sagamu
area of Ogun state. Salami Amodu, 65, Bruce Ekonen, Joseph
Ofoeyeno, Francis Ode, Bruce Ekonen and Kola Ifatoye were
arrested with about 100 gallons of Premium Motor Spirit
(PMS). They allegedly vandalized Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline at Idimagboro.
Activity at a vandalised oil pipe
Salami Amodu, 65, who was, along with others arrested by
operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Special
Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism Unit, had this to say:
"I was on my way home when a man, popularly known as
Alfa, stopped me. He promised to pay me N5000 per trip if I
can help him to carry 10 gallons of liquid. I thought it was
water, so I did not bother to ask, since it's a good business. It
is possible that the water could be anointed since he was ready
to pay as much as N5000.
"It was while we were on our way that I started to perceive
the odour of fuel. I asked him and he told me that it was fuel.
I was so annoyed and I shouted at him for not telling me in
the first place what was in the gallons. Initially, I wanted to
stop the car and ask him to off load the vehicle, but when I
realized that we were almost close to his destination, I decided
to continue. I am aware that vandals normally pass through
that route that was why I was very angry with him.
"In that area, people go for prayers. Clerics come to that area
to buy holy water to perform miracle. Most of the times when
I am done with the day's job, especially if I did not make
much money, I will go down to the bush area to see if there is
anyone who needs lift. I also ensure that I do not carry
vandals because those days when I used to help them, it
landed me into trouble with security men. Although, there is
money to make in that business but the risk is much. This was
why I stopped a long time ago till Alfa deceived me into
carrying fuel for him.
"I am very sorry. It is of no use denying that I was not
involved because I was caught with the product. Life has been
unfair to me if not, at this age, why should I be hustling for
money to feed and take care of my family. I am very sorry."
Another suspect, Joseph Ofoeyeno, claimed that his duty was
just to transport the stolen products from the bush to the
buyers:
"Initially I was buying directly from NNPC staff close to the
depot. Normally, NNPC staff will overload their trucks and
sell the excess to us before preceding to off- load the rest for
the buyer. The place was however shot down when there was
a fire outbreak. I had no choice than to patronize these
vandals. I am sorry and I wish NNPC will be allowing those
their truck drivers to carry excess."
Bruce Ekonen stated he actually went to the bush to see a
cleric for the gift of the fruit of the womb: "I have been
married for the past 8 years and my wife has not been able to
conceive. I have tried my hands on different women outside
but none has ever returned with the good news that she is
pregnant.
"I was actually on my way when I saw Francis and asked him
for a lift. We were on our way to town when the police
arrested us. I was looking for the fruit of the womb not stolen
fuel. I was even advising Francis to stay away from illegal
business of selling stolen product when the police arrested
us."
Confirming the arrest, Assistant Commissioner of Police,
Friday Ibadin, who is in charge of the Task Force, said,
"Detectives led by Sector Commander, Lagos, DSP Onaghise
Osayande, laid ambush and nabbed these suspected vandals. It
is worthy to remind Nigerians that ignorance is not an excuse.
Both the seller and buyer of stolen products are liable.
Meanwhile, the suspects would soon be arraigned in court at
the end of investigation."

Anambra governorship election results, not acceptable unless – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned that it will not accept the results of Saturday's governorship election in Anambra state if voting does not take place in all local governments, especially in the party's strongholds of Idemili North and South as well as Akwa South.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also condemned INEC for its apparently-contrived logistic nightmare that has left thousands of voters unable to exercise their franchise, and demanded the immediate removal of the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukogu.
APC said it was totally astonished to learn that INEC has confirmed that materials meant for Idemili North Local  Government, which has 180,000 voters, have been hijacked, without saying who hijacked the ballot papers and why, and without explaining why the materials meant for APGA and PDP strongholds were not hijacked.
The party said equally astonishing is the fact that the voter's registers for Idemili South, the direct council of the APC candidate, Dr. Chris Ngige, did not contain the names of voters in the local government, despite the assurances
by INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega.
"Before the election, political parties were given voters registers that largely contained the names of most voters. However, about four days to the election, Prof Jega said at an interactive stakeholders forum that there were problems with the registers, which would be rectified before the election.
"However, when the supposedly-corrected registers were brought back, most of the authentic names in them have disappeared, without explanation," it said.
APC said it also complained about the fact that the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra, Prof Onukogu, was very partial and unprofessional when he conducted the 2011 election,
"In 2011, when Prof. Onukogu conducted the general elections in the state, he was very partial. During the Onitsha South 2 House of Assembly constituency and Idemili South House of Assembly polls, he declared the results of both inconclusive, only for him to announce the results at 12 midnight. After we challenged the results in court and a rerun was ordered, we won both constituencies.
"We subsequently petitioned INEC and the Commission assured us that the same person will not be allowed to conduct subsequent election. Alas, he was left in place to do another damage to INEC as an institution through his glaring incompetence and partiality, which have seriously affected the credibility of this governorship election," the party said.

Breaking News: Soldiers arrest 25 men for violating no-movement order

Anambra – Soldiers on Saturday arrested 25 young men on the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway for violating the no-movement order following the Anambra Governorship Election currently ongoing.
The soldiers stationed at the Abba Junction in Njikoka Local Government Area arrested and detained the men, who are of voting age, around 7.30 a.m.
Lt. A.O. Quadri, who led the team at the checkpoint, told NAN that the men were arrested for violating the movement restriction order.
"You can see that they are all of voting age and claimed they are coming from Enugu with different stories.
"Some of them claimed they are coming from church while the other boys said they are going to onitsha to vote.
"We kept them here because they have not really committed a crime but their two story versions are not only suspicious but do not justify their moviing from Enugu to Onitsha on election day," Quadri said.
He said their directive was to detain anyone in violation of the order and release them after the election.
Attempts to speak with the detainees who sat on the ground under the watch of the soldiers was not allowed.
The major political parties have been accusing one another of plots to import mercenaries to vote with purchased voters' cards.
The no-movement order imposed on the state started at midnight and will end at 10 p.m. on Saturday.

How Governor Lamido & Sons Looted Jigawa Of Over N10billion (Details)

Shocking details emerged Friday of how Jigawa State
governor, Sule Lamido, allegedly connived with two of his
sons, Aminu and Mustapha Lamido, to allegedly defraud the
state government of over N10billion.
A national daily has obtained disturbing details of how huge
sums of money belonging to Jigawa state were moved in and
out of 34 bank accounts of nine companies linked to the
governor's family members.
Between June 2010 and August 2013, for instance, over
N1.5billion was paid into an account in Skye Bank belonging
to Bamaina Aluminium Limited, a company which has
Governor Lamido and his two sons as directors.
During the period, Mustapha Lamido, who is a signatory,
made multiple lodgments into the account from the Jigawa
State government account.
Similarly, Bamaina Holdings Limited, whose account with
Unity Bank has Governor Lamido as sole signatory, recorded
total cash lodgments of over N1.19billion between February
2007 and July 2013, out of which about N1billion was, at
various times during the period, paid out to other sister
companies.
Equally, Bamaina Company Nigeria Limited, which has the
governor, his two sons and one other person as directors, has
another bank account with Mustapha as sole signatory.
Between January 2010 and July 2013, over N500million
withdrawals were made from the account, mostly by
Mustapha.
Although registration documents did not link Rawda
Integrated Services Limited to any known member of the
Lamido family, the company's account details with Access
Bank showed that it was operated by Mustapha and one other
person.
Between December 2008 and April 2009, over N32million
was paid by the Jigawa State government into the account,
which made several payments totaling over N50million to
another company, Speeds International Limited, which has the
governor and his two sons as directors.
Another account belonging to Rawda Integrated Services
Limited in First City Monument Bank, FCMB, has a different
signatory, with records of huge cash lodgments of over
N2.6billion and several staggering withdrawals within two
years.
Rawda also has another account in Zenith Bank, with
Mustapha as signatory, with over N1.1billion paid in by
different individuals and organizations between January 2007
and May 2013.
For Speeds International Limited, its account with Access
Bank, with Mustapha as its sole signatory, received total
deposits of over N2.2billion between January 2007 and
February 2010. This is apart from a dollar account it also
maintains, which has total lodgments of over $346,700.
Saby Integrated Nigeria Limited is the another company
owned by the Lamidos, with Aminu Lamido as the sole
signatory to its account with Fidelity Bank. Investigators said
a total of over N600million was lodged into the account from
several Jigawa State government establishments between July
2010 and November 2012.
Some of the payments made into the account at different times
included over N84million, over N300million, over
N60million, over N48million and over N93million, while
between January 2010 and August 2013 over N730million
were paid into the account, 95 per cent of which were by
different Jigawa State government institutions.
Investigations into the activities of the other companies are
ongoing, although it was gathered that the cumulative
turnover of the family business could be as high as over
N10billion.
Efforts to reach the Lamidos were unsuccessful. Telephone
calls and text messages from reporters to Umar Kyari,
Governor Lamido's spokesperson were unanswered.

Man Dumped His Wife And Moved In With His Sister-In-Law Because She Can Cook

He was married and had two kids and all was well in his
marriage. But eight months ago the 33-year- old man dumped
his wife and moved in with his 35-year-old sister-in-law who
is now pregnant! His wife is brokenhearted and the families of
the couple are in shock.
A meeting attended by elders from the families was held last
weekend in Rockville, Soweto, between the man, his wife and
sister-in-law.The man gave his reasons for dumping his wife.
"My new lover gives me wonderful intimate pleasure. She is
also a better cook than my wife," he told the meeting. A
family member said the man had been with his 29-year-old
wife for 10 years. She said the man explained that he
impregnated his wife's sister because he loves her and only
God could separate them.
She said: "We always heard the wife complaining that her
husband was not sleeping in the house, but we never thought
he could be dating her sister." The man told them he was
planning to marry his new lover because she had all it took to
be his wife.

Why I am supporting Chris Ngige for governor today- Pat Utomi

It was a notoriously crowded field. Yet as they gathered at
a Town Hall meeting, only two gubernatorial candidates
were on the raised platform. They were Chris Ngige and
Ifeanyi Ubah. By way of irony I had reduced the field that
made it through the party rigmaroles to these same two
candidates. Where did the rest of the field go? The answer
is obvious and goes to the heart of why the Anambra
elections can uplift or damage the future, not only of
Anambra people but the Igbo Nation as a whole.

When I narrowed the field in facebook comments not long
ago, I got the usual mix of reactions, from those who
agreed, to those who were genuinely upset at dismissing
what the APGA leadership supposedly anointed for
Ndigbo had done, to paid hands steeped in abuse on behalf
of the APGA leadership. It was to be expected. I reiterate
here that I consider myself a true friend of APGA
leadership and as individuals they know how I relate to
them in full appreciation of their persons. But for some
reason, they seem to have become victims of Groupthink
inadvertently set to damage the future of the Igbo Nation,
in the path of their choice.

I have met with some of the APGA leadership and spoken
several times on telephone and private brotherly meeting
with the Anambra State Governor Peter Obi on evolving
thinking about succession. I have also never quarreled
with the idea of justice in turning to Anambra north, often
left out, for gubernatorial candidate. I can see a few people
from Anambra North who can lead the challenge of
continuity and renewal. But I certainly do not see it in the
direction they have turned to.

The Anambra elections are particularly important for
several reasons. First Nigerians confuse public office with
leadership and so look to incumbent governors for
leadership of the region. Secondly the South East is not
particularly lucky as current offering, ill health, age, and
other challenges reduce the effectiveness of the current
college of Governors. Should Anambra be governed by an
aloof, disconnected person, with a limited sense for how
the Igbo nation should be engaged, the tragedy will be of
greater magnitude than the afflictions before the Chris
Ngige restoration.

My concerns go back to issues I have raised for more than
twenty years which are now coming home to roost
regarding care and strategy for the South East as my
predicted Bontustanization of Nigeria is beginning to show
its ugly face. I raised it repeatedly as a trustee and member
of Aka Ikenga. On Chris Ngige's watch as President of
Aka Ikenga, when I served as chairman of the Economic
and Finance Committee of that Think Tank I was
mandated to develop what I called the Niger Basin
Project, a strategic plan for building a collaborating South
East and South South zones into a region of economic
prosperity.

In fashioning infrastructure linkages between production
clusters based on factor endowments and new technology
across the two zones the idea was to create a new Rhine
valley in the Niger Basin. Lethargy in facing what is more
important, including considering of the plan document at
the WIC of 1998 in London has come to haunt all as the
desolation of the homestead has bred the crimes of today.
The vicious cycle is entrapment of the people as keeping
away from the home stead breeds more crime and more
people keep away or need armies to visit home.
This clearly is the worst time for politics-as-usual; as has
been played by the APGA leadership, which has relied on
support from Abuja and playing the game of support from
clergy as those who have disagreed with me on facebook,
see as their assurance.

I know the Bishops of Anambra, both Catholic and
Anglican. Three of them share a common surname. They
are wise men and the Holy Spirit is still alive and at work
in them. To use the wool of continuity to blindfold them
on a greater good is not to give credit to the spirit of
wisdom.

Given the way things continue to be done in Nigeria,
anything is possible, as outcome but men of their word
must stand up to be counted and so it is imperative that my
voice be loud and clear, given the importance of this
moment for which history will judge us all. Given how the
APGA leadership has conducted things, the field is
narrowed to Ngige and Ubah, and Ngige is the man that
fits the bill for the moment.

Of course I have a partisan preference being of the same
political party, the APC, as Dr Chris Ngige, but the
bottomline is a picture much bigger. Like all people, he
may not be perfect. Even if I criticized his not moving
more quickly on the agenda I outlined at Aka Ikenga,
when he became Governor, but there is no doubt in my
mind that he is the person of the moment in Anambra.

In the affairs of a people there comes a time when grown
men must stand to be counted. It is on the heads of elders
that the coconut is broken. I have become one and will do
harm to posterity should I not address a truth so naked. As
I addressed Igbo elite, recently, Chief Simon Okeke
smiled and whispered, the young have grown. I imagine
he was thinking of the precarious 27 years old he first met
standing beside the then Vice-President, Dr. Alex
Ekwueme. Many years have passed and several of the
incumbent Governors of the South East call me big
brother. I must not be like elders of the recent past who
would not speak truth to power. I went for my conscience,
history and God to judge me knowing that I was true to
myself, even if I may be wrong.

Akpos Joke: Akpos The Taxi Driver

A Japanese tourist hailed a taxi in Nigeria and asked to be taken to the Ahmadu Bello Airport.

On the way, a car zoomed by and the tourist responded, "Oh! Toyota - Made in Japan! Very fast!"

Not too long afterward, another car flew by the taxi. "Oh! Nissan - Made in Japan! Very fast!"

Yet another car zipped by, and the tourist said, "Oh! Mitsubishi - Made in Japan! Very fast!"

Akpos, who is 100% Nigerian, was starting to get a little annoyed that the Japanese made cars were passing his taxi when another car passed the taxi as they were turning into the airport. "Oh! Honda - Made in Japan! Very fast!"

Akpos stopped the car, pointed to the meter, and said, "That'll be 5000 naira ."

The tourist exclaimed "5000 naira? It was short ride! Why so much?"

Akpos smiled as he replied, "Meter - Made in Nigeria. Very fast!"

One word for Akpos???

Two students in court for stealing recharge cards from cripple

Mararaba – Two students, Benjamin Daniel 20, of Area 1 Masaka and Samuel Ochokwu, 23, of Abacha Road, Mararaba, on Friday appeared before a Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Mararaba.
They are facing a two count charge of criminal conspiracy and extortion.

Photo: Cossy Ojiakor will Get married next year

When asked in an interview with Vanguard about the man in
her life & rumours she insured her boobs, she said :

At the moment, I have a lot of people that love me. I'd fall
in love. But when I dating someone, I hate to make it a public
affair. I can't even take a picture with my man in public. But I
can take pictures with my fans. Anybody you see me pose for
a shot is my fan. I wouldn't even agree to share the same table
with my man at a function. This, for me, is a way of avoiding
people raising eyebrows.Anyway, I will be getting married
come next year.A woman get married when she is ready to get
married. I will get married next year or I will make a baby
next year.

On getting her boobs insured
It's not true. Sometimes, some of these bloggers just cook
up stuffs that are not true. But it sounds so interesting, that's
why I didn't want to confirm whether it's true or not. Let the
story just be.Somebody just cooked it up. I don't know
anything about it. I didn't tell anybody I'm insuring my
boobs. It's something that somebody just cooked up
somewhere. The story didn't generate from me neither did it
generate from my Twitter handle or Instagram
