Chaos In UNILAG After Student Shot In Head

Chaos broke out in the University of Lagos after a final year student was shot in the head on Monday at the King Jaja Hall area, Lagos State.

Education activities in the University of Lagos were paused as the unknown gunmen have carried out a sudden attack on one of its students.

The final year student of Philosophy, Sapara, was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba, after a bullet touched the side of his head.

According to some witnesses of the shooting, the possible malefactors escaped from the scene by car seen on the campus several hours before the attack.

The shooting provoked panic and stampede as students were hurriedly
leaving the building. However, the next day the learning process returned to normalcy as students were seen writing their exams.

The Dean of Students' Affairs of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund, confirmed the incident, assuring that the security operatives exert every effort to unravel the culprits and bring
them to justice.

He also expressed his assumption of possible cultist attack as such kind of operations are typical for them.

He said,

"The events surrounding the incident are still unknown and by the time we conclude our investigation, the university authorities will take the necessary and appropriate action."
