8 Most Meaningful Proverbs Everyone Should Live by

Many of us have heard over and over again those proverbs
everyone should live by that are really inspiring. From each
culture and religion, there are plenty of essential proverbs that
speak to the depths of you as a human being and affect how
you think. Sometimes proverbs can be so inspiring that they
even change who you are and how you live your life. If you
want to feel refreshed and inspired, take a look at some great
and incredibly meaningful proverbs everyone should live by!

1. "The purpose of life is a life of purpose" – Robert Byrne
Perhaps, this is my favorite proverb, because there was a time
when I didn't understand what the purpose of my life was. I
think at some point every one of us comes to that difficult
question of what the purpose of life is. The answer is actually
different for everybody and some people may not know it yet
and that's not bad. The basic point of this great proverb is to
live your life with purpose in all your thoughts and actions,
which is actually everybody's calling, regardless of passions
and talents. I have this wonderful and meaningful proverb on
my wall and it really helps me through difficult times!

2. "In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down
while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a
foothold" – Eph. 4:26-27
I always think of this proverb when I'm in a fight with a
family member, partner or friend. While being angry is
normal and even healthy, we should not be consumed by
anger and it must not still be there the next day. If you are
consumed by anger over a disagreement or fight, you can
easily say or do something you will regret later. So calm
yourself by taking a few deep breaths and try to resolve the
issues without fighting. Remember you and only you are
responsible for your actions so do your part to stay cool, calm
and collected!

3. "A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything
and the value of nothing" – Oscar Wilde
Though I try not to be a cynic person, with all the selfishness
abounding in our world it's extremely difficult not to be
cynical. I believe that there are many selfless and kind people
who really make our world a better place to live in! It's an
amazing goal to see the value in those things that are not
fleeting in life, such as love, faith, family, and friends!

4. "Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it " –
Confucius
Have you ever heard the saying 'beauty is in the eye of the
beholder'? I absolutely agree with Confucius. Beauty is
everywhere we just don't notice it at times. Every day try to
see those little things, which are very beautiful. It can be
lunch with your friends and interesting conversation. Sure, it's
the little thing, but it's so beautiful!

5. "No one can make you feel inferior without your
consent" – Eleanor Roosevelt
Often it's extremely difficult to ignore negative words,
especially when they are from someone you love. If it
happens, the best thing to do is to tell the person that it's a
great pity that they have such opinion, and that you are going
to think otherwise. Never dwell on negative words, I know
it's easier said than done, but you should try to do it!

6. "Kindness is the sunshine in which virtue grows" –
Anonymous
I like this proverb because unkind people can't have virtuous
traits. Kindness comes from love, and without love, all
virtuous characteristics are worthless. I believe this is a
beautiful and meaningful proverb everyone should live by!

7. "Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small
spark" – James 3:5
This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. The entire verse
compares the tongue to a big fire and how our words are
powerful and destructive. Every time I read this proverb I
always think of gossips and how they spread like a fire,
consuming people who turn their ears to listen. Gossips can
ruin lives, so we must avoid spreading rumors about other
people, even if they're true. It's just unkind.

8. "The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single
step" – Chinese Proverb
I love this proverb because it's really motivational in all areas
of life. I think about my fitness goal and how the most
difficult part about getting into exercise is just beginning and
taking that first step! The first step is always the most difficult
since it's the mental battle you should overcome.

These are all of my favorite proverbs I live by. I feel really
inspired and refreshed when I read them. I hope you like these
beautiful proverbs and you will take them to heart! What
proverbs do you live by? Please comment below and thanks
