Rescue Abducted Girls In 7 Days Or Resign - Ohanaeze Youth Council Gives Ultimatum To Security Chiefs

Ohanaeze Youth Council has given the nation's Security Service Chiefs an ultimatum either they locate and rescue the abducted girls within 7 days or resign their appointments just as it has raised the alarm over the influx of illegal immigrants in South East zone of the country.

The Ohanaeze Youths stated that it is unspeakable that the nation's security agencies having the huge budgetary allocations can't do anything to rescue young Chibok schoolgirls for a month.

According to a statement made by the publicity secretary of the group, Mazi Obinna Adibe, the abduction can be described as "inhuman, despicable, senseless and shameful."

"It is unimaginable what the young girls would be going through in the bush where they are being held captive by the Boko Haram. If these girls are not released in seven days, we will be left with no option than to call on the Service chiefs to tender their resignation for incompetence," the group stated.

Ohanaeze Youths Council also mentioned "influx of illegal immigrants in the South East zone." The group asked relevant agencies, especially Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to take this situation under control and deport illegal immigrants to their country, because of worrisome security situation in Nigeria.

The OYC observed that the immigrants, mostly from Chad and Niger, dominate the population of tricycle (keke napep) drivers, labourers and artisans in the South-East, especially in Enugu and Ebonyi States, and roam about unhindered with nobody questioning how they managed to enter the country.

The group urged communities in Igboland to emulate the people of Ugwogo Nike by reporting any suspicious movement around them to the relevant security agencies.
